Es sind einerseits Sitzmöbel, insbesondere Sessel, bekannt, deren Armlehne zu einer
Tischplatte verbreitert ist; anderseits sind bereits Sitzmöbel mit zwei Sitzen vorgeschlagen
worden, bei denen sich die beiden Sitze nach Art einer Bank nebeneinander befinden
und die Lehne in S-Form so angeordnet ist, daß die beiden Sitzrichtungen um i8o° gegeneinander
versetzt sind. Letztere Anordnung hat den Nachteil, daß die beiden sitzenden Personen ihren Oberkörper je um volle
o.o° verdrehen müssen, wenn sie sich z. B. bei der Unterhaltung oder einem Spiel voll
ansehen wollen. Um diese Unannehmlichkeit zu beheben, sind gemäß der Erfindung an
einen Doppelsessel die Sitze nicht nebeneinander, sondern einander schräg gegenüber in
einer Diagonale angeordnet, wobei die an sich bekannte S-förmige Lehne beide Sitze verao
bindet. Der neue Sessel eignet sich besonders zur Ausübung eines Brett- oder Kartenspiels,
wenn die Lehne in der Mitte zwischen den Sitzen als Tischplatte ausgebildet ist.
Hierdurch wird der sonst zwischen zwei Spieler zu stellende Spieltisch überflüssig.
Erfindungsgemäß kann der neue Sessel in der Mitte teilbar sein, so daß zwei Einzelsessel
