Description
Sighting device for taking photographs of aircraft the end. The invention relates to an auxiliary device for the photographic recording of Terrain parts from the air and aims to provide orientation for those operating the recording device to facilitate over the area to be recorded and to increase the working accuracy, in particular to avoid double and incorrect recordings.
The recording of parts of the terrain from the air, be it through individual photos or by serial recordings, is usually done in such a way that the part of the terrain to be recorded is flown over and recorded in parallel strips, the width of which is derived from the Height from which the recordings are to be made, as well as from the requested lateral Image coverage results for security reasons or for the purpose of easier evaluation recording is required. Difficulties arise particularly when if the area to be recorded is nonexistent or unreliable or too small Scale maps are available, or if the recordings are made so low Height should take place that the operator as a result of the high speed, with the ground under the aircraft, and as a result of the rapid Image sequence (for single shots) too little time for simultaneous observation of the following terrain strips to be recorded or to compare them remains with the map. The result will then often be that with the individual strips of land parallel flight directions are not always observed, so that individual pieces of terrain not at all, others are included twice.
The invention seeks to avoid such disadvantages and to facilitate a sighting device that is attached to the aircraft and at the position of the sight marks according to the focal length, the image format and the Inclination angle of the recording device and. if necessary, the requested lateral Coverage of the image strips is adapted or then adjustable and the so at Flying over a strip of land, aiming at the next one or the next to be recorded Terrain strips and thus a determination of the flight direction for this allows. This sighting can be done either by direct observation. respect the area with visor marks or done by means of an optical sighting device, which is called an ordinary telescope or is designed so that they the terrain and the sight marks on one Focusing screen.
The device for direct site observation is expediently designed in such a way that that several visor threads are drawn in parallel to one another in a frame or the like are that two or more wires in a plane next to each other and one more wire come to lie at some distance above it, the distance of this wire from the plane of the other wires of the focal length, the mutual spacing of the adjacent ones Wires the image format and angle of inclination of the recording device as well as the required lateral Image overlap corresponds. Depending on the number of sight threads lying next to each other So you can choose the direction of flight for the next one or for the next one Observe the strip of land and look for some striking points in the terrain memorize without using a card. When the individual adjacent Crossed the strip of terrain alternately in one direction and the other it is advisable to have such a sighting device on each side of the aircraft to attach. The sight threads are adjustable to adjust the device for different shooting conditions to be able to use. In most cases, the recording will be in directions of flight against or with the wind, so that the projection of the visor threads onto the Terrain indicates the direction of flight at the same time. For cases where this is special Is not possible for reasons, the sighting device can be pivoted about a vertical axis be.
Another embodiment of the device is that on the Visor adjustable identification marks are provided, which, according to focal length and image size of the recording device and corresponding possible longitudinal overlap of the Images set to determine the time sequence of single or series exposures. allow. If one observes the time of the shift of a point in the terrain from one identification mark to another, this results, taking into account the respective necessary longitudinal overlap of the images the necessary time sequence for the individual Exposures. This is especially useful for monitoring when the wind speed changes often required.
The drawings show exemplary embodiments of the invention, namely Fig. I and 2 a sighting device for immediate terrain observation and a Recording device in their mutual dependency, Fig. 3 shows the mode of operation the vision device, Fig. ¢ a device for the pictorial reproduction of the area to be targeted. The sighting device according to Fig. I consists of a the individual parts i to 4 composite frame, drawn into the threads 5 to 9 are whose mutual distance can be changed by moving them in slots i i can, namely the wires 6 to 9 in one plane next to each other, wire 5 in one certain distance above this level. The whole thing is in one place on the aircraft attached, from which a sighting of the terrain of the thread 5 over the threads 6, 7, 8, 9 is possible. If necessary, the drift is to be taken into account Cross wind the whole device around a vertical axis or for oblique shots Mounted on the aircraft so that it can be rotated about a horizontal axis and can be locked.
The setting of the threads will be carried out in the following manner prior to use: If according to figure 2, a receiving unit of the focal length f = 25 cm and the image scale m X n = 13 X i 8 used cm and is further a lateral overlap of image rows of 1 / gn is required, the distances a, b, c, d of the threads 7 to 9 from the thread 6 are in the ratio to attach. If, after this setting of the threads and after parallel positioning of the sighting device with the longitudinal axis of the aircraft as shown in Fig. 3, one aims over the threads 5, 6, the sighting line results in the projection of the flight direction x, i.e. h: the center line of the terrain controversy covered with vertical recordings, if flying against or with the wind. If drift is present, the frame must be rotated around a vertical axis until the terrain moves parallel to the threads. If you aim over the threads 5, 7 or 5, 8, the projection of these threads on the terrain shows the flight direction to be observed for the next and the next but one terrain strip y or z to be recorded, which without difficulty and without constant observation at some prominent points in the Terrain is noted. If the direction of flight for each subsequent strip of land to be recorded is parallel, but directed in the opposite direction, such sighting devices are to be attached to both sides of the aircraft, so that the next strip or strips of land can be observed in each direction of flight and their course can be determined.
Another possible use of the device is obtained by attaching identification marks 12, 13, 14, 15 to the threads 5, 6, whereby two directions are defined in the plane of the threads 5, 6, their inclination to one another z. B. corresponds to the angle of view, taking into account the overlap in the direction of flight. If one now observes the time which elapses during the movement of a point on the terrain between the two directions determined by the pairs of identification marks 12, 14 and 12, 15, the result is. thus the necessary time sequence of the individual exposures. The connecting line of the identification marks 12, 13 forms a right angle with the thread carrying the identification mark 13, so that when aiming from 12 in the middle between the identification marks 14, 15 there is a further clue in the time observation.
Abb. q. Fig.q. - shows schematically in a vertical longitudinal section an embodiment in which the sighting takes place by optical means. For this purpose, a housing 2o, which also carries a special frame 2i with the sight threads 16, 17, 18 lying in one plane, consists of a lens 22, a mirror 23 , which is 4.5 'to the optical axis, and a ground glass screen 24 Optical device installed in such a way that a line running through the optical center of the lens 22 in the direction of flight corresponds to the upper thread lying above the sighting threads 16 to 18 in the ratio of the focal length of the recording camera. This line can be identified by a thread lying in the beam path or by a line on the focusing screen. The operator is now aiming at the area simply by observing the ground glass 2 [. The frame 21 with the threads 16 to 18 can be pivoted (for oblique shots) about the horizontal transverse axis of the lens, and the entire device can also be pivoted about a vertical axis. In the example shown, both adjustment options are achieved by connecting parts 2o and 21 by means of a ball joint 25. Aids (scales, markers, dragonflies) can be provided, which enable an exact horizontal position of the lens plane as well as an exact parallel position of the lens plane with the plane of the threads 16 to 18 for vertical recordings and an adjustment of the device at a certain angle of inclination for oblique recordings.
