Durch Patent 431 075 ist ein Verfahren zum Regenerieren der bei der elektrolytischen Herstellung von Natriumperborat im Kreislauf verwendeten Elektrolytlösungen geschützt worden, bei dem man die Lösungen in geeigneten Zwischenräumen mit Silicagel aufkocht und von diesem wieder befreit.Regeneration of the electrolyte solutions used in the electrolytic production of perborate. Das Aufwirbeln ist z. B. durch mechanische Rührvorrichtungen oder vermittels Hindurchleitens von Luft oder Dampf oder auf ähnliche Art leicht zu erreichen. Das Regenerieren geht alsdann schneller und wirksamer vor sich. Es gelingt z. B., mit guten Ergebnissen im Dauerbetrieb zu arbeiten, wenn man die Elektrolytlösungen vor ihrer erneuten Verwendung zur Elektrolyse mit Soda versetzt und im geschlossenen Kessel mit Silicagel unter Aufwirbeln aufkocht. Man verwendet etwa 2 g Silicagel auf 1 Liter Lösung. Als Überdruck wählt man etwa 3 Atm. ; die Kochdauer beträgt etwa eine Stunde.
