Lichtelektrische Zelle.
Photoelectric cell. The invention relates to a photoelectric cell, which consists in that an electrode is attached in a highly evacuated or gas-precipitated vessel, which is covered with a thin layer of selenium, for example produced by cathode sputtering or sublitnation, and that the vessel also has a Contains heated cathode. Compared to the previous selenium cells, such an arrangement has the advantage of greater inertia and greater sensitivity, since almost the entire part of the selenium cells through which the current flows can be exposed to the exposure. A highly emissive material, such as e.g. B. to use an oxide or thorium thread, which is expediently so weakly heated that it can produce little or no light effects. A shadow effect of the yarn on to avoid the selenium cell, it is advisable to the filament in an appropriate form, eg. B. in a V-shape or in two parallel threads.
In the simplest case, a metal plate and heating cathode covered with selenium works as follows: Between the heated cathode and the metal plate covered with selenium, which serves as an anode, there is a DC voltage source and in this circuit you have current indicators, or 41 If the cell is unexposed, despite the hot, electron-emitting cathode: a current will not pass, as the very high resistance of selenium in the dark forms an insulating coating on the anode and thus prevents the electrons from passing from the hot cathode to the anode. When the selenium layer is exposed to light, its resistance is greatly reduced, so that the electrons appearing on the outer surface can pass through the selenschielite to the anode and thus produce a current that is roughly proportional to the incident light intensity. The cell can also have a certain gas filling, e.g. B. neon or argon, contained, which is determined by means of Ionisatign on the power line processes. Another embodiment according to the invention is shown in the drawing. In addition to the stirrer, there is one. organs already described, namely a 'hot cathode F and an anode A covered with selenium, yet another plate-shaped cathode K, which can be connected to the heating circuit of the thread. In the presence of gas in the tube R containing the electrons, ionization occurs. The cathode will then take part in the conduction of the current insofar as part of the positive ions is absorbed by it. The sum of the currents absorbed by the anode A then runs through the drawn indication instrument and kainn. can be used here directly or by means of coupling agents known per se to other apparatus.
