Bei dem Mantel α ist die Höhe überall dieselbe,
er verjüngt sich aber in der Breite und ist am weitesten Ende oben mit einem Füllstutzen
b versehen; am schmälsten Ende ist ein Zwischenstück c, welches den Uebergang
der nahezu elliptischen Form des Mantels in die kreisrunde Form des Mundstückes d herstellt.
Der Querschnitt des letzteren entspricht der Dimension, welche man dem Teig bei seinem Austreten aus der Maschine zu geben
wünscht. Bei groben, wenig klebenden Teigsorten kann das Mundstück aus glattem, ausgebohrtem
Metall gebildet sein.. Zu feineren, mehr klebenden Teigsorten wird das Mundstück
immer z. B. erst mit einer Schicht Filz, Fig. 4, gefüttert, worüber ein dünnes Leder
gespannt wird. In eine Oeffnung oben im Mundstück wird dann ein Trichter e "gesetzt,
durch welchen Wasser oder, wenn nöthig, eine andere Flüssigkeit, z. B. OeI, auf die Filzschicht
niederträufelt, damit letztere die aufgenommene Feuchtigkeit gleichmäfsig an das
Leder abgiebt, um das Festkleben des Teiges zu verhindern. Vor dem Mundstück ist ein
Transportband ohne Ende m angebracht, welches über die im Rahmen ο gelagerten Rollen η

Im Mantel α sind zwei Schnecken /1Z'2 angebracht,
von denen die eine links, die andere rechts gewunden ist. Die Schnecken sind auf
den gegen den kleinsten Querschnitt des Mantels convergirenden Achsen g1 und g2 befestigt,
welche in den Lagern b 1A1 und b-le
der gleichzeitig als Deckel dienenden Fundamentplatte j ruhen. Die Achsen sind durch
mit einander in Eingriff befindliche Zahnräder verbunden, und trägt die Welle g·2 aufserdem
noch ein Zahnrad, welches in ein auf der Vorgelegewelle h sitzendes Getriebe eingreift.
Die Vorgelegewelle ist noch mit einer. Riemscheibe i versehen, welche eventuell durch

Bei der Rotation der Schnecken f1 und f1
wird der durch die Einfüllungsöffnung b eingebrachte Teig einem kräftigen Kneten ausgesetzt
und zugleich allmälig nach dem Mundstück geprefst, durch welches er ausgedrückt wird, indem er die Querschnittsform desselben
annimmt. Der Teig, welcher sich nachher auf das endlose Transportband m schiebt, wird in
passenden Stücken abgeschnitten und, wenn erforderlich, nochmals in der Maschine geknetet.
