Verfahren zur Herstellung von Formsand. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Formsand für Gießereizwecke. Das Verfahren besteht im wesentlichen darin, daß dem Form- bz«. Kernsand eine Mischung beigefügt wird, welche durch ihre Zusammensetzung die Abführung der beim Gießen entstehenden Gase selbsttätig zuläßt. Diese Mischung besteht aus gemahlenem Bimsstein, Staubzucker und Kieselsäure bzw. Siliciumdioxyd, und zwar «-erden geeigneterweise die Stoffe in folgenden Verhältnissen gemengt: -Bimsstein ...... 92 Prozent, Staubzucker.... 5 - Kieselsäure .... 3 - Je nach der Verwendung für Naß- oder Trockenguß bzw. für Kernsand ist die zugesetzte Menge im Verhältnis zur Gesamtmenge verschieden groß.
