Diese Einlagen wirken infolge ihrer großen Wärmeaufnahme- und Leitfähigkeit in an sich bekannter Weise abschreckend auf die anliegenden Teile des Gußstückes ein und ergeben so eine genügende Härtung der Arbeitsflächen des Werkzeugs, welche es den in Temperguß hergestellten weitaus überlegen macht, während die Bearbeitungsmöglichkeit des Hammers an den Stellen, an denen das Gußstück einer Bearbeitung unterzogen werden soll, gewährleistet bleibt.
