Die Tafeln b, c, d, e sind mittels Zapfen f in die Kette k eingehängt und werden von dieser bei ihrer Bewegung mitgenommen. Das Zahnrad 2 wird durch eine Handkurbel h gedreht, und ein Riegel r mit Sperrad ^ (Abb. 4 und 5) sichert die Stellung des Zahnrades 3 und damit die der Kette k sowie der Tafeln vor unbeabsichtigtem Verschieben.
