welche entweder nur mit Luft oder nur mit Schwamm- o. dgl. porösem Gummi gefüllt
sind, sind bekannt. Die erstgenannten Kissen sind insbesondere als flache Kissen,
wie sie z. B. als bestimmte Fersenauflager u. dgl. verwendet werden, ungeeignet,
weil die Luftfüllung oder der Innendruck für die Belastung zu gering ist, während
bei einem starken Innendruck die Weichheit des Kissens verlorengeht. Es ergibt sich
infolgedessen der Nachteil, daß das nur mit Luft gefüllte Kissen bei ständigem Gebrauch
zusammengedrückt wird und dann eine harte Auflage bildet oder für den angestrebten
Zweck unbrauchbar ist. Die mit Schwammgummi gefüllten Kissen hingegen besitzen den
Übelstand, daß sie von vornherein nicht die Weichheit der pneumatischen Kissen aufweisen
und infolge ihrer geringen Elastizität insbesondere für druckempfindliche Körperstellen
sich nicht anwenden lassen. Ferner sind auch Fersenkissen und Schuheinlagen bekannt,
bei denen die Füllung aus zwei verschiedenen Arten von Polstermitteln besteht, nämlich
