It has the following composition: 25-35 % by weight of gravel having a particle size of 4-12 mm 25-35 % by weight of gravel having a particle size of 2-7 mm 30-40 % by weight of sand having a particle size of 0.09-3 mm 5- 7 % by weight of binder in the form of bitumen and 2- 6 % by weight of electric steel plant filter dust as filler.

Description

The invention relates to a mixture for road surfaces, essentially grits of different grain sizes, sand and containing binders.

Körnung:Mixtures of this type are known and have for example the following composition or grain size:

- 30 Gew.-% Splitt aus Rheinkies der Körnung 6-10 mm,
- 14 Gew.-% Splitt aus Rheinkies der Körnung 4-6 mm,
- 50 Gew.-% Rheinsand der Körnung 0,09-4 mm,
- 6 Gew.-% Bitumen 80/100
- 30% by weight of grit from Rhine gravel with a grain size of 6-10 mm,
14% by weight of grit from Rhine gravel of 4-6 mm grain,
50% by weight of Rhine sand with a grain size of 0.09-4 mm,
- 6% by weight bitumen 80/100

Road surfaces made from such a mixture often do not have, especially with heavy use a sufficiently long shelf life.

From DE-PS 12 93 072 it is known to granulate Blast furnace slags for the production of road surfaces use.

In this way, the steel mill slags can be disposed of and at the same time high-quality road surfaces Resilience can be achieved.

For waste products from electrical steel plants, such as. B.  Filter dust, but this was not possible until now, because of their ingredients (e.g. Heavy metals) not with slags from conventional Steelworks are to be equated.

Such filter dust must, for example, in covered halls to be temporarily stored To avoid contamination of the groundwater.

The invention has for its object a mixture to create for road surfaces, even with larger ones Has a long service life and over the the filter dust that accumulates in an electrical steel plant, can be disposed of.

This object is achieved by the mixture according to the invention solved for road surfaces that are composed as follows is:

According to the invention it is further provided that the Amount of filter dust up to half through a mixture of the following composition is replaced:

- 10 Gew.-% granulierte Hochofenschlacke,
- 40-50 Gew.-% Mergel (CaCO3 + SiO2),
- 40-50 Gew.-% Kalksteinmehl (CaCO3).
- 10% by weight of granulated blast furnace slag,
- 40-50% by weight marl (CaCO 3 + SiO 2 ),
- 40-50% by weight limestone flour (CaCO 3 ).

The advantages achieved by the invention are essential in that a very wear-resistant Road surface can be made and at the same time as Filler filter dust is used, which otherwise only is expensive to dispose of. It turned out to be surprisingly found that especially with filter dusts a grain size of 0.03 to 0.09 mm the resilience complies with the required standards and also through the Covering the filter dust practically no washing out of toxic heavy metals takes place.

Asphaltbetons sei folgende Zusammensetzung angegeben:As an example of a mixture according to the invention for Production of a road surface or asphalt concrete given the following composition:

- 24 Gew.-% Moräne-Edelsplitt (Valet+Ott) mit der Körnung 5-8 mm,

Beurteilungevaluation

The bitumen mix used for road construction according to the manufacturer, contains 3% Steel mill filter dust of the one we analyzed enclosed Quality. The dust is particularly characterized by increased Contains iron, zinc, lead, copper, chromium and cadmium out. According to the mostly oxidic nature in such  Dusting heavy metals is also that Leaching behavior accordingly low. The retention will continue to be strong through inclusion in the Bitumen matrix favors (hydrophobic nature of the Bitumen!). Thus, in the elution test according to DEV S 4 the relevant metals up to the limit of quantification be detected. Other pollutants were in the eluate not detectable, so based on the bitumen mixture our investigations an environmentally neutral Elution behavior can be attested.
