praktische Anwendung geeigneten Weise Sprachschwingungen in elektrische Ströme umzuwandeln,
Arrangement for converting sound into electrical power and vice versa
using an ionized gas train existing in the atmosphere. It
is known for the purpose of amplifying or generating electrical vibrations
To use arc generators, in which the ionized gas path through a
Control electrode, expediently a water-cooled diaphragm, in rhythm with the electrical one
Vibrations is changed. The present invention is that this
known arrangement for converting sound vibrations into electrical vibrations
or vice versa. Because in order to get a reasonably high volume,
it is necessary that the alternating current power superimposed on the direct arc current
is also great. So far it has been difficult, this big one
Voice AC power
and therefore the speaking arc lamp has no technical significance
even though they are. a good means of undistorted speech reproduction
is to be seen. According to the present invention, it is possible in a for the
practical application suitable way of converting speech vibrations into electrical currents,
d. H. To achieve microphone effects. According to the invention, between an arc electrode
and the control electrode applies the alternating voltage generated by the speech.
This creates an alternating electric field between the diaphragm and the electrodes,
and the conductivity of the arc changes with the rhythm of the language. By
the change in volume caused by the change in the current in the arc gives the language
audible again. With this method, the power consumption remains between the diaphragm
and arc electrode small, so that the ratio of those required to control the arc
Performance is favorable to the performance flowing in the arc.
Conversely, in an arrangement according to the invention, the sheet can be exposed directly to the pressure effect of the sound waves. The associated change in resistance of the arc creates an alternating voltage between the diaphragm and the electrodes, which converts sound vibrations into electrical vibrations. In the figure, an arrangement according to the invention is shown in terms of circuitry. A and B are the electrodes of the arc, G the diaphragm, D a generator which supplies the feed current for the arc. The diaphragm is connected to one electrode via a winding E of a transformer. A capacitor C with a bridging resistor W can expediently be switched into the transformer circuit. The second winding of the transformer F is, if this arrangement is to work as a loudspeaker telephone, fed with your alternating current in the rhythm of the speech. If, on the other hand, the arrangement is to work as a microphone, the alternating current generated by the influence of the sound vibrations on the arc is taken from the secondary winding of the transformer F.
