Abstract

Known sliding bearings make use of plastic and this has a disadvantageous effect as regards length of service life. Other sliding bearings have multi-part sliding surfaces and this leads to high production costs. The new ball-type sliding bearing is intended to eliminate these disadvantages. To produce an inexpensive ball-type sliding bearing with a long life, a one-piece inner ring (1b) is surrounded over a large area by an outer ring (3a pipe section made of brass), leaving an oil gap (2) of about 0.03 mm. This sliding bearing can be fixed in the head of a rod by means of brazing solder (5). The ball-type sliding bearing with oil lubrication operates very smoothly and precisely and, by virtue of the large-area surround (3a), has a long life and is inexpensive to manufacture.
