Cylinder head for diesel engines with pressure atomization. The invention
concerns diesel engines with pressure atomization in which air and fuel are separated
introduced from each other and then compressed together until ignition. According to experience
complete combustion can only be achieved with these machines if the
finely atomized fuel is evenly distributed throughout the combustion chamber,
it is essential that in high-speed machines for the mixing of
Air and fuel particles are available for very short periods of time. There are
Arrangements are known in which the flow energy inherent in the sucked in air
is used to circulate and swirl air in the combustion chamber
Bring in air and fuel. Known arrangements of this type have the disadvantage
that the incoming air through elbow and special design of the valve, which
is provided with recessed edges, for example, is deflected several times, so
that eddy and shock losses necessarily arise and consequently the
The intended purpose is only incompletely achieved.
According to the invention is by special arrangement and shape of
Combustion chamber, inlet valve and inlet duct for the air have been achieved,
that -the-air almost without change of direction - enters the combustion chamber and
that their flow energy is transferred to the air in the combustion chamber with almost no loss
will. Such an arrangement is shown in Fig. I to 3 in three cylinder sections.
The combustion chamber is spherically curved and the air inlet valve
arranged so that the valve axis goes approximately through the center of the sphere. Of the
Luftein flow channel is placed so that it is perpendicular to a plane through the cylinder axis
is directed, passes this laterally and the spherical surface before the cut
meets with the plane. In Fig. i to 3, a denotes the inlet duct for the air,
b the combustion chamber and c the inlet valve for the air, its ring-shaped
Seat d simultaneously penetrates the channel and the spherical wall of the combustion chamber
represents. You can get the canal if you find the most favorable for the intended purpose
Wants to preserve form, think mathematically created by the fact that a straight line is
always moves perpendicular to the plane referred to above on the spherical circles d and
thus delimiting the canal. The shape of the canal to be executed is ideal from this
Shape only differ as much as this is due to manufacturing considerations, wall thicknesses
etc. is conditional.
As indicated in Figure 3, the deflection is in this arrangement
the streamlines of the air are very slight. So there are only insignificant flow losses
one, and the one inherent in the air jet entering the combustion chamber tangentially
Energy is therefore transferred to the air in the combustion chamber with almost no loss.
This gets the air in quickly
Wandering movement offsets that
from experience nooh. at the "@ end # _ of the compression during the top dead center position
of the piston continues.
erforderlichen Luftanteil vorfindet.
The arrangement shown in Fig. R to 3 can be particularly advantageous
use if the piston crown is also spherical or truncated conical,
in such a way that the bases of the two spherical segments or cones coincide,
and now arranges one or more fuel nozzles in this common base area.
In Fig. I to 3, e denotes the piston, f and g the fuel nozzles and h denotes the
atomization cone resulting from fuel injection, its tip change
must be so large that it completely covers the combustion chamber in the section I-I (Fig. i)
fills out. As can be seen in the section according to II-II (Fig. 2), it cannot be avoided
that the side of the atomizing cones are spaces in which the fuel
does not get there, if not at the same time a rotation of the air content of the combustion chamber
is forced by the introduction of air. If this is done, however, in the described
Way, so the air penetrates the atomizing cone. Are z. B., as in Fig.
i to 3 shown, two nozzles are used, so after a quarter turn
The circulating amount of air allows such a complete penetration of air and fuel particles
achieves that every fuel particle is ready for combustion at the moment of ignition
finds the required air content. The essence of the invention consists in
that by the arrangement and shape forming the invention both the fuel
as well as the air, certain paths are prescribed in such a way that air and fuel
necessary and must meet immediately after the injection, that is
the mixing of the two necessary for combustion becomes an inevitable process.
This effect is also achieved if the nozzle axes deviate from that in the
Fig. I to 3 shown position, do not intersect the cylinder axis, but lie in such a way,
that they are inclined to the section plane 1-I. Likewise, it is possible without taking part in the essence
the invention to change something, the combustion chamber instead of spherical frustoconical
to limit.
B. Kupfer, Aluminium, Magnesium usw., in
Frage. The advantages of the arrangement forming the invention are particularly evident
when you work in the combustion chamber to favorably influence the combustion process
attaching a radiator that absorbs heat during combustion and this
before the next ignition to release the mixture in the combustion chamber again.
Since the time available for the heat transfer is very short, a
Sufficient heat can only be transferred if the heat transfer is used
Surface alternately and continuously from the heat-emitting, ignited gases and from
the heat-absorbing mixture is washed around. Such a radiator is shown in Fig.
i and 2, in Fig. 3 it has been omitted to simplify the drawing.
It consists of a thin-walled sleeve i., Which is coaxial with its bottom on the
Piston is attached and has recesses in front of the nozzles and valves so that
atomization is not impaired. As a result of the fast circular movement
in the combustion chamber the air is constantly brushing the edge of the ignited
Gases overheated canister and absorbs heat in the process, in particular the
Fuel particles captured by the air stream are guided past the highly heated edge
and quickly vaporized and ignited. As a material for the radiator
come good heat-conducting materials, such as. B. copper, aluminum, magnesium, etc., in
Question.
