Description
Process for the production of rayon, synthetic fibers, films, ribbons, etc. from viscose. The invention relates to a process for the production of rayon, where the following substances are added to the viscose during its preparation or after its completion: z. B. the sulfonic acids of the condensation product obtained from wood by the action of phenols or their salts (cf. patents 247181, Kt. I2q, and 326705, K1. 55b); also the sulfonic acids of condensation products of phenols, phenol sulfonic acids with aldehydes, ketones, aldoses, ketoses and higher molecular carbohydrates which form these bodies, in particular also certain high molecular weight salts of these sulfonic acids; also sulfonic acids (or their salts) from mineral oils, aliphatic tars or tar oils and their condensation products, e.g. B. with formaldehyde, some of which have a glue-precipitating effect and have become known as artificial tannins. For example, substances such as machine oil sulfonic acid (Example 2) are very suitable for the purposes indicated here. Machine oil sulphonic acid is obtained by sulphurizing machine oils in a known manner, that is to say from commercially available lubricating oils which preferably consist of saturated and unsaturated higher molecular weight, aliphatic hydrocarbons. Also saturated, e.g. B. hydroaromatic compounds (i.e. cyclic compounds with aliphatic character) come into question, as well as mixed or uniform aromatic sulfonic acids and their condensation products with aldehydes or ketones, especially here with the higher molecular weight bodies of this series, some of which have a glue-precipitating effect and in one semi-colloidal state arise during their production. Be it that these bodies are amorphous or crystalline, contain hydroxide, - be it that they contain a single ring system in their molecule or that several rings or ring systems with or without the intermediary of atomic groups or polyvalent atoms are connected to one another.
These sulfonic acids are preferably neutralized, e.g. B. as alkali salts, bring into use. The higher molecular weight substances come into particular consideration, which, in terms of their molecular size, are at the boundary between colloidal and move crystalloid state. The additives are also completely suitable when used unripened viscose made from completely unripened alkali cellulose.
.Furthermore, it has also surprisingly been found that many of these substances when the viscose decomposes in the spinning bath, probably under Binding of the sulfur-containing products otherwise released during decomposition, chlorine-free Are able to produce dyes. This has a double advantage, by i. the spinning of genuinely colored fibers is made possible without the viscose roving lines must contain strongly colored viscose, and 2. a binding of the annoying in which Viscose decomposition gases occurring in the same way occurs to a greater extent, the greater the amount of the substances mentioned added to the viscose. .
Beispiele. i. There is also the same effect in terms of spinning technology As if the substances were added to the precipitation bath, but it is through The addition of the substances to the viscose achieves a saving in material. Examples. i. To a viscose made using any for viscose making usable cellulose (or cellulose) and avoiding any ripening of the alkali cellulose and the viscose is made so much is condensed and neutralized with formaldehyde Tetralin sulfonic acid added that, calculated on the pulp applied, 50 percent organic matter is present in the viscose. The viscose is avoided any maturity spun in the well-known felling baths, and if necessary, those too the above-mentioned additives (possibly mixtures of the same) within moderate limits can be added.
A normally made viscose (i.e. about four days of ripening the alkali cic11ulose and three days of viscose maturation) becomes so much machine oil sulphonic acid added that, calculated on pulp, thirty percent organic matter is contained in the viscose. The further processing of the viscose takes place in a known manner.
A pre-ripened (i.e. made from pre-ripened alkali cellulose) Viscose is added so much tetralin sulfonic acid that 50 percent organic matter (calculated on pulp) are available. The viscose becomes fresh (without ripening the viscose) spun in a known manner.
A fresh (i.e. made from normally ripened alkali cellulose) Viscose is added so much lignite tar sulfonic acid that the viscose, on Pulp calculated for this additive 40 percent organic matter contains. The viscose can be spun fresh without any further ripening of the viscose.
A very ripened viscose, made from very ripened alkali cellulose, so much naphthalene sulfonic acid condensed with formaldehyde is added that, Calculated on cellulose, the viscose contains 20 percent organic matter. As is known, the viscose is processed further without ripening.
Naphthol sulfonic acid condensed with formaldehyde is added to normally produced viscose (ie normally matured and made from matured alkali cellulose) that, calculated on cellulose, the viscose contains 30 percent organic matter. Processing as before.
A very matured viscose made from very matured alkali cellulose . a neutralized glue-precipitating, aromatic sulfonic acid added in the amount, that the viscose, calculated on pulp, 35 percent of this anhydrous sulfonic acid contains. The viscose is spun as usual.
