Description
An spruchs 1.The invention relates to a device for stroboscopy recording and playback of repetitive processes according to the generic term of the An saying 1.
Stroboscopic recordings of themselves periodically or also For example, non-periodic repetitions be used to analyze the processes yourself or to observe slow events overlaid on the events. This is done either against the frequency of the process slightly shifted frequency or exactly the process corresponding frequency for the individual records of the Operation selected. The shifted frequency gives one Slow motion of the process, showing the phase shift between the individual records of the process of the Difference of the two frequencies depends. From matching Frequencies results in a still picture, which the events overlay the repetitive process leaves.
Video cameras deliver images and / or fields divided, sequential video signal with im continuous operation of the video camera Field frequency. The following is between images and Fields not differentiated because this differentiation for the present invention is not important. With pictures is always the smallest two-dimensional here Designated recording unit.
Video cameras have a variety of image segments that the incident light intensity during a shutter speed on integrate, which exposes a shot. At the end the image segments pass the shutter speed integrated light intensities in parallel to one Cache. Until the next light intensities from the Image segments are passed to the buffer this read out line by line so that the video signal of the Video camera emerges. The shutter speed of the video camera determining shutter is in known video cameras with the Frame rate of the video camera synchronized. The end of Shutter speed that is the maximum duration of an image, coincides with the end of the respective picture with respect to the image segments and the buffer together.
In a device known from WO 91/019382 A1 with a video camera finds a procedure Application that also as a "restart" technique or is referred to as an asynchronous "reset". An external Flash signal generates a trigger signal that the Controls video camera as such. The flash signal triggers a flash light to illuminate an object. At the end of Lighting triggers the trigger signal on the video camera Handover of the previously integrated light intensities from the image segments to the buffer. As a disadvantage the method turns out that the output signal of the Video camera no video standard met. The individual pictures fall in or out of the frequency of the flash signal generated trigger signal and have intervals among themselves on that of the difference in the frequency of the Trigger signal and the one corresponding to the video standard Depend on the frame rate of the video camera. Another disadvantage is that the trigger signal the content of the Deletes the cache of the video camera and therefore itself with a short exposure time half the frame rate of the Video camera must not exceed. Once the distance of the individual flash pulses or the individual trigger pulses is less than twice the image length of the video camera a mutual interference of the individual recordings of the Object, since the previous recording has not yet been made is completely read out.
To an output signal of the video camera according to video standard too received, it is known from WO 91/019382 A1 that Generate trigger signal from the flash signal so that the trigger pulse belonging to a flash pulse at the same time as the end of the one following the flashing light pulse Image occurs. The mutual interference of the flash pulses however, this does not eliminate the problem at higher frequencies. in the the rest of this procedure is only in connection with one Flash light for illuminating what is captured by the video camera Object feasible.
Classic stroboscopic procedures make of the stroboscopic lighting of the process with flashes of light or the stroboscopic projection of the process with a Rotating mirror use. These procedures are also related feasible with a video camera. However, there is one Large number of processes that do not permit flash lighting or where a flash lighting at no evaluable Image leads. Examples are fluorescent and called luminous objects. In these cases, must stroboscopic procedure using rotating mirrors be resorted to. However, rotating mirrors are considered optomechanical components extremely sensitive and expensive.
For taking individual pictures of an object or one Operation with a video camera is from DE 89 03 402 U1 known, the video camera an image intensifier from the so-called Upstream "Micro Channel Plate" type, which at the same time the Has the function of an asynchronous shutter. Of the Image intensifier is activated for a short time. That from that Image intensifier with regard to the individual light intensities amplified image is recorded by the video camera. The resulting recording of the object or process processed as a single shot.
A device according to the Oberbe handle of claim 1 is from the operating instructions for "The 5ns Intensified Video Camera 4 Quik 05 "the Stanford computer Optics, Inc., Palo Alto, California nien, USA. Here is the Closure as an image intensifier by a control signal is gerbar, trained. This is disadvantageous in so far as an image amplifier a complex, d. H. costly optoelectronics component.
Other disadvantages are the minor Image resolution of an image ver stronger, the only limited Possibility of longer shutter speed and the delay time between driving the picture amplifier and the actual Beginning of the shutter speed. The Delay time is to build up the Operating voltage of the image intensifier kers necessary.
The object of the invention is to achieve this based on a simply constructed and inexpensive device according to the preamble of the patent to create claim 1.
According to the invention, this is achieved by the characteristics of the characteristic Part of claim 1 he enough. The closure of the video camera does not require size more effort than one ago conventional CCD camera. An ab deviating from such a CCD Camera is only functional given wisely. Triggering the The closure ends the grounding of the individual image segments. At the The end of the shutter speed will be the Content of all image segments paral lel to the buffer give. From the clipboard the individual light inks read out lines line by line, from which the video signal the video camera results. Reading out however, takes place completely independently from the operation of the lock ses, during the next picture the fixed frame rate of the video camera.
The shutter speed of the shutter can be changed with the new one Use the video camera also on values greater than that Image length of the video camera can be set. The single ones Recordings are made by the current end of an image Video camera not interrupted. The result of a long time However, shutter speeds are an increased occurrence of images without image content for the video signal from the video camera. Such However, blank images appear anyway with the new use, because at most every second picture has content. Short Shutter speeds that are behind the magnitude of the image length the video camera are often left behind required to blur each individual To prevent recordings.
The control circuit can be on the input side with a Trigger signal output of an acoustic, optical or electromagnetic detector connected to the Time of selected events of the to be recorded Operation. The trigger signal can also be a free signal generated independently of the process act, but it is advantageous directly from the process to be observed. This is the detector provided its type on the recognizability of the event is to be coordinated, the time at which the Closure should be used. The trigger signal of the Detector is only switched on by the control circuit Drive signal for the shutter converted if that Imaging ready signal of the video camera is present.
In addition, the input of the control circuit for the Trigger signal may be connected upstream of a time delay element. The time delay element is used for periodic processes constant or continuously changing Phase shift of the trigger signal and at non-periodic processes for the corresponding shift of the individual trigger pulses. This way everyone is repetitive process at different phase angles or relative times of still images and slow motion pictures of the Process producible.
The video output of the video camera can be connected directly to a Video monitor connected. The video signal from the video camera the new device meets the video standard. Hence is a conventional video monitor on the video camera output side connectable. That not every picture of the video camera with one The exposure of the process is exposed, it takes shape unexposed, black intermediate images noticeable.
Especially for the observation of slower processes with Single shots, the distances between each other in the range Have multiples of the image length of the video camera is Video output of the video camera therefore preferably with one digital image storage connected. The image memory complements this Video signal from the video camera at the times of the unexposed Images by repeating the previously read out images. This results in the display of the video signal on one Video monitor a flicker-free picture. In addition, the Image storage saved recordings in different ways evaluable, for example as an immediate sequence of exposed images or as part of a single analysis Computer-aided image processing. Digital image memories are known per se. They assign an analog / digital converter point-by-point digitization of the incoming video signal. The individual digital values are saved and are without Call change several times bar. This is done using a Digital / analog converter from the digital values in turn analog video signal generated. With the new device reading a properly exposed image from the Video camera displayed by a separate validity signal become. Based on the set validity signal, the reads Image store new images. At afterwards reset it gives the last valid signal The scanned image again until the validity signal from the video camera is set again. There are already Video cameras known to have a separate validity signal Output reading of exposed images.
With the output of the control signal Control circuit can also be connected to a flash lamp his. The flash lamp increases that from the video camera recordable light intensities. So that are shorter Shutter speeds possible. This would also be the case with one continuous lighting of the case.
In contrast, the process is illuminated with the Flash lamp an immediate stroboscopic view of the Operation with the eye. Basically, however, it is an advantage both the use of a video camera according to the invention as also to see the new device that at stroboscopic recording of the repetitive process flash lighting is not required.
The control circuit may have a flip-flop, which of the image reception ready signal is set and from that Trigger signal is reset. By resetting the So flip-flops is the closure of the video camera triggering control signal generated. A flip-flop is one of them the standardized electronic components and thus allows the control requirements for the new device to implement in the simplest way.
Es zeigtThe invention is based on Ausfüh Rungsbeispiele explained and described in more detail. It shows

FIGS. 4 and 5 different signal sequences in the device of FIG. 3.
The device for stroboscopic recording of a repetitive process shown in FIG. 1 has a video camera 1 for taking a large number of snapshots of the process. The closure of the video camera 1, which is not shown separately here, is connected on the input side to an output of a control circuit 2 which emits a control signal 7 . The control circuit 2 is in turn connected on the input side to an output of the video camera 1 emitting an image acquisition readiness signal 8 and to an output of a detector 3 emitting a trigger signal 9 . The detector 3 generates the trigger signal 9 from repeatedly occurring events 10 of the repeated process to be observed. The process is indicated here as object 11 , to which video camera 1 is oriented. The video camera 1 outputs a video signal 12 to a video monitor 4 via a second output. An essential feature of the video camera 1 is the shutter that can be controlled by the control device 2 via the control signal 7 asynchronously to the frame rate of the video camera. Apart from the closure, however, the video camera 1 is designed in accordance with any video standard. In particular, the video signal 12 is a conventional video signal that can be displayed on the likewise conventional video monitor 4 . The control signal 7 used to control the closure is generated from the trigger signal 9 of the detector 3 . A flip-flop is provided for this. The flip-flop is set by the image reception ready signal 8 and reset by the trigger signal 9 . The control signal 7 arises when the device is reset. The image reception ready signal 8 is then emitted by the video camera when the shutter subsequently actuated can no longer impair the previous picture. This is usually the case when the previous recording in the form of the video signal 12 has been completely read out from the video camera 1 . With shorter shutter speeds, the image acquisition readiness signal is regularly present at the beginning of every second image of the video camera 1 . Accordingly, the control circuit 2 emits a control signal to the shutter at most once every two images. In contrast, the number of trigger signals 9 arriving at the control circuit 2 is arbitrary. It is also not harmful if there is not a single trigger signal 9 within certain images of the video camera 1 . In this case, the images are just not exposed. It goes without saying that the shutter speed of the shutter of the video camera 1 can also be greater than the image length of the video camera if the exposure of the current recording is not impaired by the end of the respective images of the video camera and the reading of the recording only in the end the image following the shutter speed. Short shutter speeds are usually necessary to avoid motion blur. The event 10 converted by the detector 3 into the trigger signal 9 can be of a wide variety of types. The detector 3 only has to be able to recognize this event. Acoustic, optical and other electromagnetic detectors are known.
The closure of the video camera 1 is designed as an electronic circuit, the effect of which is outlined in Fig. 2. The video camera 1 of FIG. 1 comprises a plurality of image segments 13 in a flat arrangement, of which ten are here represented by way of example. FIG. 2a shows the switching of the image segments 13 before the shutter is released or when the video camera 1 is ready to take images. All image segments 13 are connected to an earth 14 . Correspondingly, light intensities incident on the image segments 13 or the signals resulting therefrom are derived directly to the earth 14 . When the shutter is released, the individual image segments 13 are isolated. This is shown in Fig. 2b. The isolated image segments 13 integrate the incident light intensities during the shutter speed. At the end of the shutter speed, the integrated light intensities 15 of all image segments 13 are transferred in parallel to a buffer store 16 . This step is indicated in Fig. 2c. After the shutter speed, the state shown in FIG. 2d is reached. The image segments 13 are separated from the buffer memory 16 . The content of the buffer memory 16 is read out by a circuit 17 in the sequential video signal 12 in the course of the next image. The image segments 13 are ready to take up again in the image following the reading and are connected to the earth 14 according to FIG. 2a. The control circuit 2 according to FIG. 1 recognizes this from the image recording readiness signal 8 emitted by the video camera 1 . The sequence of the exposed images in the new use of the video camera 1 therefore typically has half the frame rate of the video camera.
A second embodiment of the device for stroboscopic recording of processes is shown in FIG. 3. Here, a time delay element 18 , a flash lamp 6 and an image memory 5 are additionally provided. The time delay element 18 delays the trigger signal 9 output by the detector 3 to the control circuit 2 by an adjustable, fixed or incrementally increasing time period in order to repeatedly record images at a time corresponding to the time period or slow motion recordings of the observed process. The flash lamp 6 is acted upon by the control signal 7 used to control the closure of the video camera 1 . It illuminates the object 6 synchronously with the opening of the closure. In this way, the light intensities that can be registered by the video camera 1 are increased, which permits shorter shutter speeds with less motion blur. At the same time, a direct stroboscopic observation of the object 11 can be carried out with the eye. The image memory 5 is connected on the input side to the output for the video signal 12 of the video camera 1 and is intended to supplement the video signal by repeating the last exposed image when the video camera 1 reads unexposed images. This results in a video signal 20 that can be displayed flicker-free on the video monitor 4 . The video camera 1 notifies the image memory 5 that the currently read out images are exposed via a validity signal 19 . The image memory is preferably digital, the incoming analog images of the video signal 12 being digitized with an A / D converter and stored in a digital memory. A D / A converter is provided for reproducing the digital memory content. The image memory 5 can be part of a computer, for example, with which the individual recordings of the observed process can also be evaluated mathematically. The image memory 5 thus also enables the individual recordings to be evaluated subsequently. This proves to be particularly useful in the case of slow-running processes in which the video signal 12 contains only a few exposed images, that is to say recordings of the process. The individual, time-spaced recordings can, for example, be combined with a time-lapse circuit and made visible as a video signal 20 on the video monitor 4 connected on the output side to the image memory 5 . However, the image memory 5 is also useful for evaluation in the case of very fast processes. This applies in particular if the individual recordings of the process have large differences among one another that cannot be immediately detected by the human eye.
FIG. 4 shows the trigger signal 9 , the image recording readiness signal 8 , the control signal 7 , the video signal 12 , the validity signal 19 and the video signal 20 for an application of the device according to FIG. 3. The trigger signal 7 is obtained from a repetitive process and has a frequency that is greater than the field frequency of the video camera 1 . That is, the individual trigger pulses a to q have a smaller distance than the length of the images I to VII in the video signal 12 and the video signal 20th When the video camera 1 is ready to record, that is to say the image recording readiness signal 8 is raised , the trigger pulse a triggers a trigger pulse of the trigger signal 7 at the beginning of the image I. This actuates the shutter of the video camera 1 and takes a picture of the observed process. With the control pulse of the control signal 7 , the image recording readiness signal 8 is also reset. During the image II, the image A recorded in response to the trigger pulse a is read out from the video camera 1 in the form of the video signal 12 . Since it is an exposed picture, the validity signal 19 is raised. Accordingly, the recording A also appears with the video signal 20 . After the complete reading out of the recording A from the video camera 1 , the validity signal 19 is first reset. Following the following synchronization pulse of the video signal 12 and the video signal 20 at the beginning of the image III the image pickup standby signal 8 is then pulled up again. Thus, at the time of the trigger pulse f, the video camera 1 is ready to take a picture, and accordingly a control pulse is generated and the shutter of the video camera is actuated. In the meantime, that is to say during the image III, no image, but an unexposed image is read out from the video camera 1 . This is recognized by the image memory 5 on the basis of the non-boosted validity signal 19 . The image memory therefore repeats the recording A, which occurs twice in succession in the video signal 20 . Only during the image IV is the recording F corresponding to the trigger pulse f read out from the video camera 1 into the video signal 12 and passed on directly in the video signal 20 due to the high validity signal 19 . At the same time, the image memory 5 records the image F in order to repeat it during the image V, in which there is no exposed image in the video camera 1 . The same applies to the trigger pulses j and o or the recordings J and O. The video signal has an exposed image A, F, J in every second image II, IV, VI. In the case of the video signal 20 , the recordings are additionally repeated once more in order to fill in the empty images III, V, VII. The video signal 20 can be displayed flicker-free on a conventional video monitor. Just like the recordings A, F, J in the video signal 12 , the image recording readiness signal 8 and the control signal 7 in the case of FIG. 4 have an average frequency which corresponds to half the image frequency of the video camera 1 . Nevertheless, a process with any period length can be observed with the video camera 1 without constructive changes or readjustment, since the frequency of the trigger signal 9 obtained from the process is insignificant for the function of the device according to FIG. 3.
A further example of this fact is shown in FIG. 5. The same signals as in FIG. 4 are shown for an application in which individual trigger pulses r to w of the trigger signal 9 occur at irregular intervals. This corresponds to a process that is repeated but not periodic. For the first trigger pulse r which hits the ready-to-shoot video camera 1 , the sequence for the image-ready signal 8 , the drive signal 7 , the video signal 12 , the validity signal 19 and the video signal 20 corresponds to the processes in FIG. 4. However, differences result from the fact that in the picture III. In which the image acquisition readiness signal 8 again indicates the image acquisition readiness of the video camera 1 , no trigger pulse falls. Accordingly, the shutter of the video camera 1 is not activated by a drive pulse of the drive signal 7, and in the image IV, as in the image III, no exposed image can be read out from the video camera 1 . However, this is recognized by the image memory 5 on the basis of the validity signal 19 , so that it supplements the video signal 20 by a further repetition of the recording R. This also results in a video signal 20 which not only corresponds to the respective video standard like the video signal 12 , but also has an image content in each image II to VII and can be displayed flicker-free on the video monitor VI according to FIG. 3.
In the new device, the frequency at which recordings of the process to be observed can be recorded is limited in terms of upper limit. The upper limit is half the frame rate of the video camera 1 . Nevertheless, trigger signals 9 can be processed with any sequences of the individual trigger signals without any problems. Although not all of the individual trigger signals result in a recording of the process, the recorded recordings are advantageously obtained in a video standard that can be easily further processed. In addition, a higher frame rate than with the use of a video camera or the new device according to the invention would not be usable, at least when evaluating the stroboscopic recordings with the human eye.
