In der deutschen Patentschrift 3396o6 ist ist ein Verfahren beschrieben, wonach mittels faltiger oder mit erhabenen Musterungen oder Unterbrechungen versehener Mittel Lösun= gen von Ätzmitteln zur Einwirkung auf gefärbte Papierbahnen gebracht und dadurch eigenartige farbige Musterungen erzeugt werden und wonach ferner an Stelle der Ätzmittellösungen Farbstofflösungen, die gleichzeitig Lösungsmittel für die ursprüngliche Farbe der Papierbahnen enthalten, verwendet werden können. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man Musterungen von noch größerer Mannigfaltigkeit erzielen kann, wenn man Ätzmittellösungen verwendet, die gleichzeitig solche Farbstoffe in Lösung oder Suspension enthalten, deren Farbe durch die Einwirkung der Ätzmittel nicht oder nicht vollständig zerstört wird.
