Abstract

Fibre-reinforced wrapping film comprises a self-crosslinking synthetic resin dispersion applied to a fibre carrier. The film may also contain barrier substances to control permeability to vapour and fumes. The resin dispersion is pref. a copolymerisate of vinyl acetate with ethylene or an acrylate or of butadiene with acrylonitrile or a formaldehyde-free copolymerisate of an acrylate with styrene and/or acrylonitrile. A copolymerisate of butyl acrylate with styrene and acrylonitrile is esp. preferred. Pref. a fleece or a woven or webbed natural fibre (e.g. cotton, linen, silk, cellulose or collagen) is pref. used, although a synthetic fibre (e.g. a polyamide, polyester or polypropylene) is also suitable. Pref. a pulverous pigment in an amt. of 0.5-15 wt.% can be used for this purpose. Suitable pigments include metals (e.g. aluminium and bronze) and water-insol. metal oxides and metal salts (e.g. CaCO3, BaSO4 and TiO2. USE/ADVANTAGE - The film is pref. used to wrap foodstuffs, esp. sausage (wurst) and cheese. The film has good tensile strength and stretches well, is stable to hot water and solvents and, in wurst prodn., is not affected by fats, emulsifiers and salts. Further, when disposed of in refuse, the film degrades without harming the environment.

Description

The invention relates to fiber-reinforced films according to the upper Concept of claim 1.

It is known to use coated carriers as casings for life to use medium and the like. As a coating agent are the most diverse synthetic resin emulsions or -dispersions related. When choosing synthetic resins there is a desired water vapor and smoke passage liquid by coating a reinforcement from in the foreground.

The increasing amount of waste and the anlau Effective waste disposal through composting make it white ter necessary for the wrappings in the food indu strayed rotten fibers and synthetic resins for to use the coating that does not pollute the environment most.

The invention has for its object synthetic resins for the coating of supports for the production of films find those that do not pollute a control of the environment Water vapor and smoke permeability through additives but allow the other desired properties the art previously used for the coating process also have resins.

According to the invention the object is achieved in that the Synthetic resins for the coatings self-crosslinking art Resin dispersions are the additives with a barrier effect against water vapor and flue gases.

Copolyes are used as self-crosslinking synthetic resin dispersions risks of vinyl acetate with ethylene or acrylic acid esters, formaldehyde-free copolymers of acrylic acid esters with other polymerizable compounds, such as styrene and / or Acrylonitrile but also copolyinerisate from butadiene and acrylic nitrile used.

B. a copolymer of acrylic acid Use tylester, styrene and acrylonitrile.

As a barrier to water vapor and smoke gas According to the invention, materials containing water are water-resistant soluble fine-grained food-safe Pigments used. The pigments are used in amounts of 0.5 up to 15% by weight of the synthetic resin dispersion before application added to the coating medium.

As pigments come metals, e.g. B. aluminum, but bronzes also metal oxides or water-insoluble metal salts, such as finely dispersed silicas, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate,  Titanium dioxide in question. Depending on the amount added, the Permeability to water vapor and smoke gases controlled be recognized.

The Copo dispersions used for the coating Lymerisate have a solids content of forty to fifty-five weight percent with a particle size of 0.1 to 0.3 µm. The pH of the dispersions can be between fluctuate between 1.5 and 8.5, for good networking of the dispersions. Should this pH value for ver networking may not be sufficient, networking can by adding a small amount of catalysts such as Mal Acid, oxalic acid, phosphoric acid or their ammonium salts or ammonium nitrate can be improved for dispersion.

As a coating carrier, a flat, natural Lichen or regenerated fibers but also made of synthetic resin existing structure used. With the synthetic resin fa sern is, for example, those made of polyamide, polyester, Polypropylene and the like thought. The flat structure exists from a fleece, knitted or woven fabric. For the woven or non-woven fabrics are preferably natural fibers, modified natural fibers such as cotton, linen, silk, Cellulose or collagen related.

The coating of the coating carrier with the Dipersi onen can be by direct or reverse process be made.

In the direct coating process, the synthetic resin dispersion applied to the carrier as a paste or foam and ge dries. The carrier can be placed in a stenter beforehand can be clamped, or it will be loosely on a carrier belt ner, on a float dryer or a dryer with sub support rollers applied.

The film on the coating carrier or ge Dried foam is heated to over 130 ° C for crosslinking and calendered to even out the film thickness.

In the reverse process, the synthetic resin dispersion is reduced to one Endless carrier tape made of metal, Teflon or silicone rubber upset. The coating is then added to the dispersion pressed in carrier and dried the structure thus obtained. The carrier provided with the synthetic resin dispersion can now can be networked immediately using the in-line process.

In another variant, the networking is in a se separate operation.

The reverse process is especially for such coating Advantageous carriers in direct spread or foam application can not be coated.

In all processes, the dispersion can be applied one or more times be applied.

The coated support obtained, ie the film, is stable against hot water and solvents.

The films are used as wrappings in sausage production used, they show themselves to be stable against the agents used in sausage production, such as fats, emul gators or salts In addition, the dispersions can be pigmented that films with any coloration can be achieved. The Pigmentation can of course counteract with the barrier effect be coupled via water vapor and flue gas. In the Use of the film for food casings is also the  Addition of natural spices or spice substances possible, to add additional to the food to be packaged To give flavors. The durability of ver Packing foils are not affected by the added spices zen impaired.

The films show good tensile strength and elongation at break.

A property of these fiber-reinforced films obtained is that the coating carrier largely rots and some also attack the synthetic resin film from bacteria becomes.
