Abstract

Flat sheets of honeycomb material, such as a honeycomb core of sandwich constructions, are bent by loading in one position over a suitable profile using air pressure; in the process, the sheet concerned is positioned on a flat support which can be bent to the desired profile; it is then fixed by vacuum applied to an air-tight chamber enclosing the sheet; the combination of materials with the supporting plate is positioned over the shaped surface and given a second covering to form an air-tight space, after which a vacuum is applied to mould the support plate to the profile. The honeycomb sheet is positioned on a supporting plate which is divided into segments that are joined together at least at their centre; the honeycomb is then fixed by evacuating an air-tight film envelope round the honeycomb and the supporting plate. Typically, a circular flat sheet of honeycomb (e.g. phenolic-impregnated paper type) is first laid on a similar round plate (3) of 0.8 mm thick aluminium which is cut radially into a series of segments joined together at the centre. Bei dem Verfahren nach dem Hauptpatent ermöglicht der Einsatz der (soweit zur jeweils gewünschten Formänderung des Gegenstandes erforderlich) biegbaren Stützplatte die Fixierung des Gegenstandes vor dem Biegeumformen ohne Stoffschluß mit der Stützplatte, nämlich durch Unterdruck, so daß beim anschließenden Biegeumformen bis zum Formschluß der Stützplatte mit der Formfläche der Gegenstand die Formänderung der Stützplatte konturgetreu übernehmen kann ohne die Gefahr einer örtlichen Überdehnung oder Stauchung der Wabenzellen. Dieses Verfahren hat sich für das zweidimensionale Biegeumformen von Wabenplatten bewährt und ist, wie im Hauptpatent . . . Die in Fig. 2 dargestellte ebenflächige, kreisscheibenförmige Wabenplatte 1, beispielsweise ein Zuschnitt aus einem handelsüblichen Mattenprodukt aus mit Phenolharz getränktem Papier in hexogonaler Form der Wabenzellen, soll vor dem Aushärten mittels einer Formvorrichtung 2 mit halbkugeliger Formfläche 2.1 gemäß Fig. 4 in einen entsprechenden halbkugeligen Wabenformkörper 1′ umgeformt werden, und zwar durch dreidimensionales Biegen ohne Beschädigung der Wabenstruktur. Dazu wird gemäß Fig. 2 zunächst die Wabenplatte 1 auf einer gleichfalls ebenflächigen, kreisscheibenförmigen Stützplatte 3 positioniert, welche gemäß Fig. 4 zu einem der Formfläche 2.1 der Formvorrichtung 2 entsprechenden halbkugeligen Profil biegbar ist. Hierfür ist die Stützplatte 3, beispielsweise ein dünnes Aluminiumblech etwa von 0,8 mm Dicke bei einer Wabenplattendicke ab 5 mm, gemäß Fig. 1 in Segmente 3.1 teilweise gespalten, welche im Plattenzentrum zusammenhängen. Die vom Plattenrand zum Plattenzentrum sich verjüngenden Plattenspalte 3.2 sind selbstverständlich bezüglich ihrer Weite, Länge und Anzahl nach Maßgabe der erforderlichen Biegbarkeit der Stützplatte 3 ausgeführt. Erforderlichenfalls kann der Wabenplatte 1 und Stützplatte 3 eine nicht dargestellte Gleitschicht z. Mit Erreichen des durch den pneumatischen Druck gesicherten (stoffschlußlosen) Verbundes der Wabenplatte 1 mit der dreidimensional biegbaren Stützplatte 3 (gemäß Fig. 3) ist bereits gewährleistet, daß die Wabenplatte 1 über der Formfläche 2.1 der Formvorrichtung 2 gemäß Fig. 4 ohne Beschädigung biegeumformbar ist, sofern nach dem Einbringen dieses Verbundes (Fig. 3) in die Formvorrichtung 2 Formschluß der Stützplatte 3 über die diese insoweit bedeckenden Vakuumfolie 5 mit der Formfläche 2.1 durch Unterdruck bewirkt wird, selbstverständlich unter Aufrechterhaltung des Unterdruckes im von der Vakuumfolie 5 umschlossenen Raum. Dieser Formschluß wird gemäß Fig. 4 mittels einer weiteren Vakuumfolie 6 durch Evakuieren des von dieser (z. B. mittels Dichtband) gegenüber der Formfläche 2.1 begrenzten Raumes mit der Folge eines Andrückens des Verbundes "Wabenplatte 1 und Stützplatte 3 in Vakuumfolie 5" an die Formfläche 2.1 bewirkt. Sandwichkörper, durch Beaufschlagen des Gegenstandes in einer Position über einer dem zu biegenden Profil entsprechenden Formfläche mit pneumatischem Druck, wobei der Gegenstand auf einer ebenflächigen, zu einem der Formfläche entsprechenden Profil biegbaren Stützplatte positioniert und durch in einem mittels einer Abdeckung um den Gegenstand gebildeten luftdichten Raum erzeugten Unterdruck fixiert wird, worauf dieser Verbund mit der Stützplatte über der Formfläche positioniert und dann durch in einem mittels einer zweiten Abdeckung um den Verbund gebildeten luftdichten Raum erzeugten Unterdruck zum Formschluß der Stützplatte mit der Formfläche gebracht wird, nach Patent . . . (Patentanmeldung P 41 30 620.1-16), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Positionierung des Gegenstandes (Wabenplatte 1) auf einer in zumindest im Plattenzentrum zusammenhängende Abschnitte (Segmente 3.1) gespaltenen Stützplatte (3) und die Fixierung durch Evakuieren einer den Gegenstand (Wabenplatte 1) mit dieser Stützplatte (3) luftdicht umschließenden Hülle (Vakuumfolie 5) erfolgt.1.
