Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Balancesteuerruder für Fluß- und Seeschiffe, das sich gegenüber bekannten Steuerrudern dieser Art dadurch auszeichnet, daß das Ruder an einer in der senkrechten Ruderspindel liegenden wagerechten Drehachse pendelnd aufgehängt ist. Infolge dieser Ausbildung der Lagerung stellt sich das Ruder bei der Rückwärtsfahrt des Schiffes durch den Wasserdruck selbsttätig derart ein, daß es dann die gleichen günstigen Eigenschaften wie bei der Vorwärtsfahrt eines Balanceruders besitzt.lBalanche rudder for river and seagoing vessels.
