Description
The invention relates to a stabilizing additive for asphalts, in particular can be used for road construction. A stabilizing additive in the form of a Fibers for asphalt road surfaces is described in DE-A-40 42 064 and consists of shredded flax fibers.
Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a layered structure of a road construction made of asphalt, from which it can be seen that the actual layer structure for the road to be built is provided on the natural and prepared substrate. This structure consists of a substructure of no further interest here and a superstructure which is composed of different asphalt layers, namely e.g. B. from a lower base layer, a middle binder layer and an upper wear layer.
The individual layers have different tasks. The "asphalt base courses" below are in thicknesses installed between 6 and 18 cm thick and take the main load static and dynamic road traffic powers up. The "asphalt binder courses" are in thicknesses of 3.5 cm to 8 cm (in general) built in and take especially the thrust from the traffic forces acting on and represent at the same time the transition from to the "wear layers". These are installed in thicknesses of 2 to 4 cm (in general). Their traffic loads result from the direct Contacts between the vehicle tires, axle weights and the Weather influences that affect these layers as a whole ken. The task falls to the wear layers, especially to be tight and stable at the same time. The rock used material must u. a. abrasion-resistant, frost-proof and overall decayed resistant to aging, together with the bitumen as a "binding agent", which optimally glues all mineral particles together and must also be largely weatherproof.
Diese Arbeiten führten in den Jahren ab etwa 1970 zu neuen Rezepturen, wie:The "Additional Technical regulations and guidelines for the construction of bituminous Road ceilings "(short: ZTV bit-StB 84/90), edition 1984/1990, together with leaflets and guidelines, as technical regulations. Research and development result in constant optimization all the basics. This work took place over the years 1970 on new recipes, such as:
- a) Splittmastix-Asphalt,a) stone mastic asphalt,
- b) Drän- bzw. Drain-Asphalt, sowieb) drainage or drain asphalt, as well
- c) Asphaltbeton mit hohem Splittgehalt.c) Asphalt concrete with high grit content.
Include all three asphalt formulations for wear layers a high to very high grit content (from 2 to 11 in or also up to 16 mm grain diameter) with proportions of approx. 70% by weight up to 85% by weight. Accordingly, the sand and Filler proportions between 30 wt .-% to 15 wt .-%. If a sol Chen mixed mineral bitumen added, which in the hot manufacturing temperatures for asphalt of approx. 170 ° C. Yourself behaves almost exactly like water would at a slightly higher Bitumen addition when the mineral mixture can "carry" one certain amount of bitumen during the truck transport from the asphalt run the mixing system to the construction site onto the truck bed and so missing in the asphalt mix. Such an inhomogeneous mix would not be suitable for road construction. Therefore, the Her position added a special substance as "stabilizing "Added, which has the main task, the bitumen too to keep homogeneous in the mix on the transport routes and an Ab to prevent running.
At the beginning of the development work on the above three special Mixtures was considered a "stabilizing additive" asbestos, which but not because of its hazard potential in road construction since 1980 more is used. In the search for substitutes the cellulose fiber from waste paper processing. Furthermore there there are another number of stabilizing additives that but are not further described. Fibrous materials are in plastic containers from z. B. 1 kg, 3 kg and more during the asphalt production is thrown into the mixing drum by hand, whereby the PE plastic material melts immediately, the contents releases that within a certain mixing time in the Asphalt mixture distributed homogeneously.
In the course of a mechanical addition, fiber material with hard bit mixed or special bitumen or bituminized mineral and then crushed to sand fineness. Such one Product can be blown from a truck silo into a High silo to be transported to the asphalt mixing plant, from what the addition as granulate mechanically via the dosing scale in the Mixer part is done.
With cellulose fiber, care must be taken that in the mixer thermal and mechanical stress only for a short time lasts, otherwise the fiber material disintegrates increasingly.
The use of flax fibers did improve the binding properties for binders compared to cellulose fibers, but could not yet be satisfied put.
51, no. 536, Pp. 85-90, cit. as RSWB Abstr. AN 1979 (01): 990162 FIZ Technik Frankfurt, known, Bituminous layers to be used for waterproofing purposes, with sheets or mats are made of jute. To do this, the railways must be of considerable size or mats made of jute separately in the desired shapes and sizes will.
The object of the invention is to provide a stabilizing additive material for binders for asphalt mixtures, which is more stable against its own decay than previous additives, the homogeneity of the mix particularly on its Guaranteed transport route, good workability and cheap to process is standing.
The solution to this problem is that the additive as an organic fiber material in the form of jute material from recycling measures alone or in part other fibers in the form of a mixture and that all fibers are one Have a maximum fiber length of 4 mm.
The desired properties of the additive according to the invention are achieved by jute fibers recovered from old material such as sacks in particular outstandingly fulfilled. In search of a much more stable fiber Surprisingly, jute was found to be particularly bindable.
Added to this is the fact that jute sack containers are used particularly in the fiber processing industry accumulate and so there is a disposal problem that is usually caused by Burning would be solved with the disadvantages given thereby. Recycling measure Men are necessary to process the jute sacks or in any way to eliminate environmentally friendly. According to the invention, the old materials are made of jute now a raw material source for the production of stabilizing aggregate for asphalt represents, and there are also disposal disadvantages, such as. B. occur when burning, avoided. Fibers with lengths of 4 mm, preferably 2 mm and 1 mm, produced and tested. This could be determined that the jute fiber material alone or in mixtures with other fiber materials, such as B. with flax, hemp, mineral fibers and. a. all requirements in the special Asphalt mixture met, provided the lengths of other fibers to the length of preferred be adjusted 2 mm or 1 mm.
All advantages that result from a comparison with the paper cellulose fiber, can be summarized as follows:
Jute sacks are used in recycling measures and processes made into a fiber mass with a fiber length of Max. 4 mm, preferably 2 mm or 1 mm. As a result of the defi adjustable length and because of the vegetable cellulose stock parts, these fibers have a higher tensile strength and behave much more robust in asphalt production, and more tearproof and also show in mastic asphalt and in Road surface a favorable bending tensile strength.
The "stabilizing" influence, determined with the "expiry test", is at least as cheap. In addition, it was found be that the own need for binders in nature fiber is much lower. This creates for the ge the entire road surface the advantage that more binders Mineral mixture is available. A quality advantage
. . wird die Verwendung gefördert.3. Jute material from recycling measures is changing Shares with other fibers and fine-grained bitumen Mineral mixtures can be mixed. A use of flax from domestic, agricultural production, is from great ecological and ecological benefits in the sense of Use according to the principle of "renewable raw materials". From the ministries of agriculture. . . will use promoted.
Recycled jute is alone or mixed with others Fibers miscible with bituminous mineral material mix, bitumen, polymer modified bitumen, liquid Synthetic resins as part of the improvement of bitumen properties and fine-grain minerals, mostly in simple, mechanical mixing gear in one or two shaft constraints mixer. After cooling the mass and subsequent chopping A material is formed on sand-like granules the one that is transported by silo truck and in a high silo can be blown over at an asphalt mixing plant. over the further way z. B. by means of a screw conveyor and The bitumen-containing fiber granulate can be weighed in the As phaltic mixers are metered mechanically. To request one favorable storage in very warm high silos, the Granu lat z. B. aerated concrete granulate or other fine-grained mineral substances added.
For the preferred production of the proposed stabilizing additive the fiber length of all fibers used is a maximum of 4 mm, but preferably 1 to 2 mm. Additional fibers besides jute are e.g. B. flax, hemp and / or mineral fa ser. The dosage of the fibers per ton of asphalt mixture is 0.3 to 1.5% by weight. The dosage for fine mineral mixtures with a fiber content of about 20 up to 30% by weight is a multiple of 0.3 to 1.5% by weight per ton of asphalt mixture.
Furthermore, the proposed additive is based on its use Bitumen-mineral mixtures, bitumen, special bitumen, polymer modified Bitumen, liquid synthetic resins as part of the improvement of bitumen properties ten, optionally at higher or higher temperatures, miscible. After this When the mixture cools and shreds, it has a sand-like granulate shape. The The resulting granules can be mixed with granular aerated concrete or other fine-grained minerals can be provided as a storage release agent.
Finally, the new additive can be made into plastic bag containers Quantities of 1 to 3 kilograms or more filled and in this form to asphalt Mixing systems transported and there by machine or by hand in the asphalt mixer be introduced.
The stabilizing additive described above will mainly used in road construction. But he can also in Building construction can be used, e.g. B. in connection with asphalt materials for roofing felt or asphalt mastic, asphalt sludge or emulsions for a wide variety of applications.
