Abstract
Description
An spruchs 3.The invention is based on a method just sound field analysis according to the generic term of Claim 1 and a device for performing this procedure according to the preamble of the An Proverbs 3
It is known to only take sound field analyzes Using a microphone with then spherical Directional characteristic to perform, it also be is known, the output signals of the Kugelricht micro to weight fons with a so-called A curve and by forming an effective value with a specified one Integration time constant (usually 125 ms) one generate voltage proportional to sound pressure, which is then specified in dBA.
It has been known for some time that such simple sound pressure level measurement not appropriate for the ear is because human hearing is not just sound pressure level, but also the spectral distribution that temporal structure, but also the spatial position of the sound sources are also analyzed. There are hence also so-called psychoacoustic measuring methods, for example the loudness meter according to DIN 45 631 or ISO 532 B instead of the A-weighted sound pressure level measure the loudness in sone, the spectra le distribution of the sound event taken into account becomes.
However, in all previously known methods when trying an objective hearing appropriate Sound field analysis ignore the fact ben that in the presence of more than one sound source or with a sound source in a reverberant environment exercise the human ear is able to completely perform another analysis of the sound field, ver compared with the conventional one-channel gene measuring method, so that this is then significantly from that of human hearing and therefore necessarily Adequate analysis carried out among the genann conditions, i.e. more than one sound source or sound source in a reverberant environment.
No artificial head measuring systems help here either further, which are known in themselves, since it has so far not succeeded by an artificial head originating microphone signals in time as well as in To analyze and link the frequency range so that of an actual audible sound field analysis can be spoken again under the pre suspension that multiple sound sources or one sound source is available in a reverberant environment; both are in Basically the most common case.
The invention is therefore based on the object Possibility to create in sound field situations with several spatially distributed sound sources or in the presence of a sound source in reverberant Environment from the actual human impression to produce meaningful measurement results, so that too under these conditions a hearing appropriate sound field analysis can be done.
The invention solves this problem with the mark characterize the features of claim 1 or the features of claim 3 and has the advantage that based on a multi-channel micro fonaufnahmeanordnung, for example with the help an artificial head microphone with two existing microphones can be realized with this microphone signals with the help of a binaural processor so ana can be lysed that again individual signals are available, which correspond to the analy sound field situation again the individual Sound sources can be assigned.
It is therefore possible to have one for each of the sound sources a physical and psychoacoustic assessment in the form of determining the A-weighted sound pressure pe gel, loudness, sharpness, roughness, To perform tonality and fluctuation and a resultant value from these quantities determine.
It makes sense to point out that without this disassembly guaranteed by the invention in partial signals that correspond to the corresponding sound sources correspond, always only a resulting signal out can be evaluated. This means in a sound field situation ions that do not come from a sound source in the open field exist that even when using an artificial head microphones (which therefore delivers two microphone signals) only one by complex superposition of all sound share caused signal voltage available stands that no longer makes sense, d. H. corresponding the aim of the invention, can be analyzed properly.
In this respect, the invention is based on the knowledge that that, for example, the calculation of loudness applies to the sum of several signals, one gives a completely different value than the sum of the partial volume units of the individual signals. For a hearing appropriate However, sound field analysis only makes sense full, d. H. the individual analysis of each sound swell at least in the sound field situations, in not just a single sound source in the free field should be analyzed.
By the linkage guaranteed by the invention the individual psychoacoustic parameters of the Possible n-sound sources result in the end an accurate ad, d. H. it is first time offered the possibility to use sound sources if there are several or these in halli work in an environment, so to analyze and show how to bring this from human Hearing can be effectively perceived.
Es zeigen:Embodiments of the invention are in the drawing tion and are described in the following section spelling explained in more detail. Show it:
Fig. 1 als insofern bekannter Ausgangspunkt für die Erfindung und zum besseren Verständnis der grundsätzlichen Problematik zwei unterschied liche Schallfeldsituationen, bestehend aus zwei unkorrelierten Signalquellen (Stand der Technik) und Fig. 1 as a known starting point for the invention and for a better understanding of the basic problem two different union sound field situations, consisting of two uncorrelated signal sources (prior art) and

Fig. 4 in greater detail in Fig. 3 binaural processor used for the analysis of binaural excitation pattern.
The basic idea of the present invention is that, as indicated in Fig. 1 also in formula, the loudness or noise quality of a signal sum gives a completely different value than the sum of the partial loudnesses of the individual signals, so that the invention proposes multi-channel microphone signals obtained by means of to link and analyze a binaural processor in such a way that assignable signals are available at the output of the processor for further processing.
The basic problem and task of the present invention according to Fig. 1 is that, as shown, usually arbitrarily un-correlated signal sources form a sound field situation, for example the sound sources S 1 and S 2 only taken into account in Fig. 1, which are at any angle and Stand at a distance from the sound sensor.
For a normal mono measuring microphone with a spherical directional characteristic, only the distance of the sound sources from the sound measuring point affects the level. If, on the other hand, the spatial position of the sound sources is changed, so that there are different sound directions of incidence as shown on the right-hand side of FIG. 1, then the measuring microphone still delivers the same output signals.
In the case of a proper assessment, however, the sound source position influences the assessment of the sound field situation in a significant manner. Depending on the level, spectral composition and temporal structure, for example, the two sound sources S 1 and S 2 can influence each other in their perceived effect, especially if they emit from the same direction. If, on the other hand, they are positioned in different directions, the human ear is able to recognize the two different directions on the basis of the binaural signal processing and to select the individual sound sources, i.e. to analyze them accordingly in this sense.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, two separate recording microphones M 1 and M 2 are provided, which in this respect form a multi-channel microphone arrangement and which, moreover, can preferably be arranged and formed such that they are part of a two-channel artificial head measuring system, which has comparable transmission characteristics to human hearing. This is indicated by respective outer ear transmission function blocks A 1 and A 2 for left and right, which are assigned to the microphones M 1 and M 2 in so far, which is not to be understood as a series connection.
The microphone signals implemented by the outer ear transmission functions of the two-channel artificial head measuring system arrive at inner ear filter bank blocks F 1 , F 2 for left and right and are then fed to a binaural processor P, which links and analyzes the two ear signals in a suitable manner, that at the output of the binaural processor signals are again present that the individual signal sources S 1 , S 2 , S 3 . . . Sn can be assigned. These signals are then fed to a separate analysis with regard to their physical psychoacoustic properties, for which purpose corresponding evaluation blocks B 1 , B 2 . . . Bn are provided, the output signals of which are then linked together to form an overall result at a logic block V, at the output of which there is then a measured value which corresponds to an actual, hearing-appropriate noise assessment.
As already indicated, the realization of the mehrka nal microphone arrangement with preference the multi-channel Microphone arrangement of a two-channel dummy head Measuring system used, d. H. it is called a recording sy stem is based on an artificial head that is human comparable hearing characteristics having. The most appropriate is one Dummy head as used in the European Pa tent registration 01 56 333 A2.
In the following, a more detailed discussion of the structure shown in FIG. 2 for hearing-appropriate sound field analysis will be made based on the representation of FIGS. 3 and 4.
Only in the special and preferred case of use of an artificial head, the blocks A 1 and A 2 mean "outer ear transfer function" that the two microphones M 1 and M 2 form the artificial head microphone signals of the left and right ear and these signals depending on the direction be filtered by the outer ear transmission function.
This filtering of the two microphone signals in connection with the interaural level and phase differences between the two microphone signals M 1 and M 2 , due to the spatial distance, are necessary in order to be able to separate the individual sound sources again using the binaural processor P. There is a different outer ear transmission function for the left and right artificial head microphone signal for every sound incidence direction, as well as a significant, direction-dependent phase frequency response between the two microphone signals.
The downstream inner ear filter system, which is designated in FIG. 2 as left and right inner ear filter banks F 1 and F 2 , is a known fact of hearing. As is known, the incident sound signals from the human ear are processed further in the basilar membrane. In terms of messaging, this Ba membrane membrane can be understood as a filter bank system. A more detailed description of how to understand such an inner ear filter system can be found in the book by Zwicker and Feldkeller "The ear as a message recipient".
There is also described as a first approximation such an inner ear filter bank as an embodiment could be technically realized. In one particularly simple approximation can even be common Use third-party filter banks for this.
In this respect, the blocks A 1 with F 1 and A 2 with F 2 shown in FIG. 2 serve to describe the microphone signal paths.
The binaural processor P acted upon by the blocks A 1 with F 1 and A 2 with F 2 separates the sum signals fed to it from the right and left ear into individual signals which correspond to the individual sound sources and in this way a separate psychoacoustic evaluation can then be supplied, whereupon only then can the individual results be combined to form a total result or can also be made available as individual results.
It is helpful for use in practice and can be used for an evaluation if it works, for example with an artificial head measurement to get a statement that z. B. three sound sources in the directions x, y, z, with the loudness l y , l z , and correspondingly available for the other psychoacoustic parameters.
It goes without saying that the block V shown in FIG. 2, downstream of the psychoacoustic evaluation, for hearing-appropriate noise evaluation, for example by linking the individual psychoacoustic parameters of the n-sound sources, is only to be understood as an application example to round off. In block V, weighted links, for example, of the individual signals supplied by the psychoacoustic evaluation can be made in any weighting and dimensioning factors that can be determined by empirical tests for the respective application, if one would like to get a result at all. For this purpose, namely for the hearing-appropriate noise assessment of the individual signals, it can also be pointed out that, as is known, when two sound sources irradiate a person from the same direction, the resulting hearing event is subjectively judged differently than when the sound sources emit from different directions . The linking of the individual psychoacoustic parameters of the n-sound sources in block V can therefore include not only the superimposition of the loudness depending on the direction of sound and its connection with other directions of sound, but also other laws, with corresponding other psycho-acoustic parameters.
In Fig. 3 is a completed binaural model consisting prepared from individual components, which, starting from the influence of the outer ear (l = left; r = right) simulates the processing to binaural concatenation or represents. Thus, the influence of the outer ear or corresponding to FIG. 2, the outer ear transfer function can be found on the left or right in block A, while blocks B, C and D provide a more detailed representation of the inner ear filter bank F 1 or F 2 corresponding to FIG. 2 specify. The actual binaural processor in FIG. 3 is labeled E. In particular, one can under blocks B the middle ear or its influence on the signal behavior, under block C the cochlea and under block D the hair cells in the ear area ver.
In this context, it should be noted that FIGS . 3 and 4 only show a possible embodiment of a binaural processor, as it has been used for corresponding studies and how it is explained in more detail below for better understanding. However, the invention is not limited to this technical embodiment of a binaural processor, which in its own right in one or the other configuration and for other purposes is also known to the person skilled in the art. Thanks to the binaural processor, it is not necessary to carry out a psychoacoustic evaluation of hearing events on the basis of microphone signals, but only after a correspondingly implemented selection in individual sound sources, and only with such a procedure can a sound sound field analysis actually be achieved in the end real sound measurement, especially for binaural noise assessment or binaural loudness measurement.
In this respect, as already mentioned, the blocks A 1 with F 1 or A 2 with F 2 in FIG. 2 or the blocks A, B, C and D in FIG. 3 serve to describe the microphone signal paths, the one in FIG . 3 binaural processor e model shown on a so-called cross-correlation, for example Siert by Lindemann and Gaick ba whose individual components in FIG. 4 illustrates yet Darge are. Since the structure and basic principle of such a binaural processor used in the invention are known, it only needs to be pointed out that the higher-level pattern recognition shown in FIG. 3 takes on the task of analyzing the binaural excitation pattern and that for the determination decisive parameter of the direction of sound incidence. These extracted parameters are, for example, direction-specific features, interaural time difference and interaural level difference. This is done by a sliding correlation of the ear signals, which can be expanded by additional processing steps. The contralateral inhibition removes ambiguities, increases contrast and increases sensitivity to interaural level differences. The evaluation stage ent speaking Fig. 4 assumes the analysis of the binaural excitation patterns, the detection is shown in Fig. 3 as a master pattern. It provides information about the number of sound events and their direction of sound. The strategy of this analysis according to the circuit structure of FIG. 4 is therefore composed of a sliding, two-dimensional averaging in the time and frequency domain and subsequent determination of the maxima of the averaged binaural excitation patterns. It is understood that, for example, the binary model shown in FIGS . 3 and 4 is to be adapted to the artificial head used in each case, ie to the outer ear transmission function.
A psychoacoustic evaluation, as it is carried out on the output signals from the binaural processor P according to FIG. 2, means that a sound signal is assessed in terms of loudness, sharpness, roughness, fluctuation strength, tonality, etc. In a very special context, a psychoacoustic evaluation or calculation method is known per se, namely an examination for ideal free field conditions, ie in the case of a sound source in a low-reflection room in front of a test person. In this context, reference can be made to the book "Psychoakustics" by Prof. Zwicker and Dr. Fastel, in which different psychoacoustic parameters and the way in which they are determined are described in connection with the ideal free field conditions already mentioned. In fact, however, most sound events do not take place in a reflection-free environment, and also not always from the front, with sound events ultimately occurring at the same time from different directions in real life. Thus, such a sum signal, regardless of whether it is derived with a measuring microphone or with an artificial head microphone signal, can no longer be meaningfully analyzed with these known psychoacoustic analysis methods, since they influence, overlap or interfere with one another. It is therefore a groundbreaking measure of the present invention that the psychoacoustic evaluation is carried out on the basis of individual sound sources separated with the aid of a binaural processor.
