Des weiteren ist ein Waschautomat bekannt, bei dem der Waschprogrammablauf über eine Messung der Trübung der Lauge automatisch entsprechend verlängert oder verkürzt wird. Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe gemäß der Erfindung besteht nun darin, daß während der Anfangsphase des Wasch- oder Spülprozesses durch einen Meß- und Auswertevorgang der während einer gewissen Zeitspanne erreichte Verschmutzungsgrad bzw. die Trübung des Wasch- oder Spülwassers ermittelt wird, daß nach einer gewissen Zeitdauer die Temperatur des Wasch- oder Spülwassers erhöht und der vorgenannte Meß- und Auswertevorgang wiederholt wird und daß aus jedem der beiden Meßvorgänge eine auf die für einen bestimmten Vertriebsabschnitt verbrauchte Energie bezogene Meßgröße (Betriebsgröße) abgeleitet wird und daß nach Auswertung dieser Meßgrößen der energiegünstigste Ablauf des Wasch- oder Spülprozesses festgelegt und durchgeführt wird. Durch die vorgeschlagenen Maßnahmen wird ein auf den jeweiligen Wäscheposten abgestimmter Energieverbrauchs- und Funktionsergebnis optimierter Waschprogrammablauf automatisch ausgewählt und von der Programmsteuereinrichtung abgearbeitet. Zur Messung des Verschmutzungsgrades bzw. der Trübung des Wasch- oder Spülwassers wird ein an sich bekannter Sensor eingesetzt, der fähig ist, eine Aussage über den jeweiligen Zustand bzw. Fortgang des Wasch- oder Spülprozesses zu liefern. Der für eine bestimmte Zeitdauer ermittelte Anstieg der Wasch- oder Spülwassertrübung (Verschmutzung) kann als "Reinigungsgeschwindigkeit" angesehen werden. Die Erhöhung der Wasch- oder Spülwassertemperatur nach dem ersten Meßvorgang wird zweckmäßig nach einem fest vorgegebenen oder abgeleiteten Zeitpunkt vorgenommen. Danach wird durch einen zweiten Meßvorgang durch Ermittlung des Verschmutzungsgrades bzw. der Trübung des Wasch- oder Spülwassers wiederum die "Reinigungsgeschwindigkeit" bestimmt. Aus diesen beiden Messungen wird eine Betriebsgröße abgeleitet, die als "Reinigungsleistung" pro aufgewendeter Energie definiert werden kann. Dabei wird beim ersten Meß- und Auswertevorgang der Antriebsenergieverbrauch während einer bestimmten Zeiteinheit und beim zweiten Meß- und Auswertevorgang der Energieeinsatz zur Erhöhung der Wasch- oder Spülwassertemperatur von einen Ist- auf einen Sollwert berücksichtigt. Durch einen Vergleich beider Meß- bzw. Betriebsgrößen kann nun durch eine entsprechende Steuereinrichtung entschieden werden, ob es energetisch günstiger ist, die "Reinigungsleistung" über eine längere Waschzeit bei gleicher Waschtemperatur oder über eine höhere Waschtemperatur zu erreichen. Bei diesem Auswertungsvorgang können zweckmäßig auch weitere bekannte Parameter wie Wäscheart, Wäschemenge, gebundene Flotte usw. sowie andere Programmwünsche des Benutzers, wie z. B. ein Waschkurzprogramm mit einfließen bzw. berücksichtigt werden. Als Steuereinrichtung für den beschriebenen Zweck kommt in vorteilhafter Weise ein sogenannter Fuzzy- Prozessor mit Fuzzy-Schlußfolgerungs-Einrichtung zur Anwendung. Durch eine kontinuierliche Erfassung und Auswertung der genannten Meß- bzw. Betriebsgrößen kann ein Minimum an elektrischer Energie für eine maximale Reinigungsleistung automatisch erreicht werden. Als selbstverständlich wird dabei vorausgesetzt, daß ein solcher Wasch- oder Spülprozeß durch Grenzwerte, beispielsweise maximale Waschtemperatur, maximale Wasch- oder Spülzeit, überwacht wird. Wenn kein merklicher Gewinn beim Waschergebnis durch Zeitverlängerung oder durch eine Temperaturerhöhung mehr erreicht werden kann, wird der betreffende Wasch- bzw.
