Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing asymmetrical siloxanes Stabilizer groups and reactive end groups that act as reactive stabilizers for Polymers can be used. The reactive stabilizers can with organic Polymers, which also have reactive groups, implemented and in this way in the Polymers are included. They can be used especially as stabilizers for plastics be applied, the extreme conditions, e.g. B. the influence of solvents and exposed to high temperatures or at which the stabilizer is released to the Environment is undesirable for reasons of physiological safety, e.g. B. in the Medicine or for food packaging.
It is known that polymers are degraded during processing and application by atmospheric influences such as heat, oxygen and light, and that these aging phenomena can be inhibited by using effective stabilizers. In many areas of application, e.g. B. in the household and in technology, in the energy industry, in agriculture, in the food industry, etc., the polymers used are exposed to extreme conditions. Low molecular weight stabilizers, but also higher molecular weight stabilizers (M M = 600-1200) can be lost under such conditions because of their volatility and because of their extractability, as a result of which the lifespan of the polymers is drastic. In order to achieve sufficient long-term stabilization of polymers even under extreme stress, the stabilizers used must have high extraction stability and low volatility.
Degrad. Stab. 25, 121 [1989]).Loss of stabilizers due to extraction processes or volatilization can result from the use of polymeric stabilizers with molecular weights above 3000 or through polymer-bound stabilizers can be reduced or avoided. Almost everyone important types of stabilizers have been synthesized in the past (J. Pospisil, Angew. Makromol. Chem. 158/159, 221 (1988); G. Scott, Am. Chem. Soc. Symp. Ser. 280, 173 [1985]). The disadvantage of polymeric stabilizers is that they are effective is restricted in many cases by the reduced mobility of these connections (M. Minagawa, Polym. Degrad. Stab. 25, 121 [1989]).
It is known that silylated hindered phenols and hindered amines for the stabilization of polymers are suitable. An application form silylated Stabilizers with the aim of firmly anchoring them in the polymer is the use so-called reactive stabilizers. These are di or trialkoxysilyl-substituted stabilizers, which by addition of the alkoxyhydrogensilanes z. B. to 4-allyloxy-tetramethylpiperidine (EP 162 524) or to allyl-substituted steric hindered phenols (JP 61 100587) can be obtained. These can be found in the polymer (e.g. in Polyolefins) under the influence of moisture to form linear or spatially cross-linked Hydrolyze siloxanes, or they are first hydrolyzed to oligomeric siloxanes and then mixed into the polymer (EP 255 181 and EP 263 561). In EP 263 561 are also Silanes and disiloxanes with HALS residues are described, which are compared to organic Polymers are reactive and can be integrated into them. Stabilizers with Alkoxysilyl residues are also used to modify fillers (EP 307 054 and Fr. Demande 2 595 366). A disadvantage of this method is that the Stabilizer residues usually via a short carbon chain to a cross-linked siloxane, the polymer or filler in question are bound, increasing their mobility is severely restricted.
Furthermore, oligomeric and polymeric HALS compounds are described in which the HALS residues are bound to a siloxane chain via a SiOC bond (US patent 4,895,885 and EP 358 190) or which are oligomeric alkoxysilane (EP 182 415, EP 263 561 and EP 244 026). However, these stabilizers are due to their SiOC Bindings are not stable to hydrolysis and give under the influence of moisture low molecular weight stabilizer molecules due to their volatility and Extractability can be lost.
Some patents deal with the manufacture of polymeric stabilizers in which the Stabilizer residues are bound to the siloxane chain. If you use the hydroxypropyl substituted siloxanes to make 3- (3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy- phenyl) propionate, so you get polymeric phenolic antioxidants (US Patent 4,879,378), in which the stabilizer residue is hydrolysis-stable bound to the siloxane chain is. Siloxanes in which sterically hindered phenol residues have an SiC bond to the Are bound siloxane chain and serve as antioxidants for heat-resistant siloxane, are described in U.S. Patents 3,865,759 and 4,159,276, JP 61,036,358 and Can. Pat. 1 241 786. The addition of cyclic and linear hydrogen siloxanes to 4-allyloxy-2,2,6,6- Tetramethyl-piperidine derivatives has been described in EP 343 717 and leads to effective ones Light stabilizers for polyolefins. In U.S. Patent 4,859,759 is the preparation of siloxanes described with sterically hindered amine residues, which adhere to the in a controlled manner Enrich the surface of polymers. The disadvantages of using siloxanes with stabilizer residues as polymeric stabilizers are that they with many organic polymers are incompatible and float to the surface. they are therefore preferred by mechanical abrasion and extraction processes from the Surface layer of these polymers released into the environment.
A partial solution to the problems described brought in DD 1 47 247, DD 1 52 136, DD 2 34 682 and DD 2 34 683 described production of styrene and butadiene cyclosiloxane Block copolymers with bound sterically hindered phenol residues and sterically hindered amine residues, which are incorporated into the polymer material in an extraction-stable manner (H. Friedrichh, I. Jansen and K. Rühlmann, J. Inorg. Organomet. Polym., 1 (1991), 397-415), the have good mobility and where the stabilizer is on the surface of the Polymer enriches. However, these procedures are limited to the integration of Stabilizers in polymers that can be produced by anionic copolymerization.
The object of the invention is the production of reactive stabilizers for polymers, which through a high extraction stability, through a low volatility and a good Characterize compatibility with the polymer and at the same time high mobility in the Own polymer.
Anspruchs genannten allgemeinen Formel I hergestellt werden, indem im VerfahrensschrittAccording to the invention the object is achieved in that asymmetrical siloxanes in The preamble of the general formula I mentioned in claim 1 can be produced by in the procedural step
Anschließend wird das Silanol im Verfahrensschritta) a silane of the general formula II, wherein R, R¹, R² and Z have the meaning given above and R⁶ is a chlorine or bromine atom, an acetoxy, alkoxy or an aryloxy radical, in a silanol with the general formula III is transferred. In order to prepare silanols with sterically hindered phenol radicals, a compound of the general formula II in which R is a sterically hindered phenol radical and R⁶ is a chlorine atom is preferably hydrolyzed with a solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate in water. Silanols with sterically hindered amine radicals are preferably prepared by in each case a compound of the general formula II, in which R is a sterically hindered amine radical and R⁶ is an alkoxy group, in the presence of KOH in excess and with the aid of the solvents toluene or xylene at 100-120 ° C. , to a potassium silanolate VIII implemented and this is then also hydrolyzed to a silanol with a solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate in water. The silanol is then used in the process step
- b) mit Lithium oder einer Lithiumverbindung wie n-Butyllithium, Methyllithium oder Lithiumhydrid in ein Lithiumsilanolat der allgemeinen Formel IV, worin wiederum R, R¹, R² und Z die oben angegebene Bedeutung besitzen, umgewandelt, danach, für die Herstellung von Siloxanen mit n<0, im Verfahrensschrittb) with lithium or a lithium compound such as n-butyllithium, methyl lithium or lithium hydride in a lithium silanolate of the general formula IV, where in turn R, R¹, R² and Z have the meaning given above, converted, then, for the preparation of siloxanes with n <0, in the process step
- c) das Silanolat IV in einem aprotischen dipolaren Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise THF, erst mit Hexamethylcyclotrisiloxan bei 20-70°C umgesetzt und danach im Verfahrensschrittc) the silanolate IV in an aprotic dipolar solvent, preferably THF, first reacted with hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane at 20-70 ° C and then in Procedural step
Bei Umsetzungen mit einer Verbindung V, worin Y ein (CH₂)mOSiMe₃-Rest ist, wird anschließend die Trimethylsilylgruppe durch Hydrolyse oder Alkoholyse in Gegenwart von Essigsäure abgespaltet.d) with a compound of the general formula V or VI brought to reaction, wherein R³, R⁴, R⁵, i and j have the meanings given above, X is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an acetoxy radical, Y = hydrogen, (CH₂) m OSiMe₃ [m = 3-10], a vinyl or can be a glycidyloxypropyl radical. In reactions with a compound V, in which Y is a (CH₂) m OSiMe₃ radical, the trimethylsilyl group is then split off by hydrolysis or alcoholysis in the presence of acetic acid.
Die Aufgabe der Herstellung von Siloxanen der allgemeinen Formel I, worinThe task of producing siloxanes of the general formula I, wherein
sein kann, wird erfindungsgemäß außerdem dadurch gelöst, daß ein Siloxan mit der allgemeinen Formel I hergestellt wird, worin M = SiR³R⁴H ist und daß dieses Siloxan in Gegenwart eines Platinkatalysators an eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel VIIcan be, is also solved according to the invention in that a siloxane with the general Formula I is prepared in which M = SiR³R⁴H and that this siloxane in the presence a platinum catalyst to a compound of the general formula VII
CH₂=CH-(CH₂)m-2-R¹⁰ VIICH₂ = CH- (CH₂) m-2 -R¹⁰ VII
mit m = 3-10 und R¹⁰ = -OSiMe₃, -NHSiMe₃ oder -N(SiMe₃)₂,with m = 3-10 and R¹⁰ = -OSiMe₃, -NHSiMe₃ or -N (SiMe₃) ₂,
oder an Allylglycidylether addiert wird. Die bei der Umsetzung mit VII entstehenden Siloxane werden durch anschließende Hydrolyse oder Alkoholyse in Siloxane mit der allgemeinen Formel I, worin M = SiR³R⁴(CH₂)mOH oder SiR³R⁴(CH₂)mNH₂ [m = 3-10] ist, umgewandelt.or is added to allyl glycidyl ether. The resulting siloxanes in the reaction with VII are converted by subsequent hydrolysis or alcoholysis into siloxanes with the general formula I, in which M = SiR³R⁴ (CH₂) m OH or SiR³R⁴ (CH₂) m NH₂ [m = 3-10].
The task of producing siloxanes with the general formula I, wherein M = SiR³R⁴ (CH₂) ³OH is also solved in that instead of in step d) of V 2,2-dimethyl-1-oxa-2-sila-cyclopentane and then with acetic acid is implemented.
The task of representing siloxanes with the general formula I in which n = 0 is solved according to the invention in that process step c), the reaction with Hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane, is omitted, but all other reactions in the described manner. A simplification of the process is at Preparation of siloxanes of the general formula I possible in which R is a steric hindered amine residue and n = 0, since here a potassium silanolate VIII directly as in Process step d) is implemented and the hydrolysis to the silanol and the Process steps b) and c) are omitted.
The advantage of the method is that through the targeted implementation of the Intermediate compounds resulting siloxanolates and silanolates different reactive End groups can be introduced. This makes it possible to insert the stabilizers into the to integrate a wide variety of polymers that are stable to hydrolysis.
This prevents the stabilizers from migrating due to extraction processes or prevented by volatilization.
By binding the stabilizer residues to the siloxane chain, the Properties of the stabilizer can be influenced positively. Enrichment of the siloxane The surface area of organic polymers increases the Stabilizer concentration on the surface, one of which is particularly important for light stabilizers Impact enhancement is expected. Since the stabilizer remains on the chain ends of the Siloxanes are located, the high mobility of the siloxane chain can increase the Cause mobility of the stabilizer and thus the disadvantage of polymeric stabilizers, the reduced mobility, reduce.
Another advantage is that the structure is asymmetrical Siloxanes can be produced because the reactions are stoichiometric.
