hier in Frage stehenden Erze meist größere Mengen Schwefel cn@ha'acn (1-l(-ggencr
Process for the first tine of fine, zinc-bearing ores. The invention
relates, in particular, to a method for first tinkering fine zinc-containing ores and the like
of zinc-containing gravel burns by blowing in a shaft furnace. One already has
zinc-containing ores and metallurgical products are de-zincated by combining the ores
with coal or coke in a fan shaft furnace or other shaft furnace type
furnaces melted down. The zinc evaporates in the form of zinc oxide while
the more or less dezincified residue flows off in the form of a liquid slag.
The implementation of this shaft furnace dezincification process presents considerable difficulties,
when it comes to the processing of ores in fine condition,
because the feed is then not sufficiently wind-permeable and because fine ore particles
be carried away by the gas stream, precipitate together with the zinc oxide
and pollute this. Kars is therefore, when using fine ores, the Schachto: dezincification process
wants to submit, forced to first convert the ores into the lumpy state.
This making into pieces can be done in a known manner by the ores
briquette by means of suitable binders; but it is known that such briquettes
disintegrate in the heat and again turn into a powdery state, so that
the disadvantage mentioned is not eliminated when using briquettes. Since the
The ores in question here are usually larger amounts of sulfur cn @ ha'acn (1-l (-ggencr
Liies burns contain, for example, 4 to 8 percent sulfur), and that is well known
the presence of sulfur drives the zinc out of the molten slag
prevented to a considerable extent, so when using ore briquettes it is necessary
if extensive dezincification is to be achieved, the fine ores before briquetting
subject to a special desulfurization process. By present invention
should now be used when using the shaft furnace dezincification process on fine ores
evils that have occurred so far are avoided. The invention consists in that
the fine ores to be first zincated in the shaft furnace are sintered using a
the known sintering process, e.g. B. on the Dwight-Lloyd furnace.
As is well known, this preparation results in a porous sintered product,
which can easily be cut into the most suitable piece size for the dezincification shaft furnace, e.g.
B. \ uss- to fist size, can be brought. In addition, at the same time as the
Sintering achieved extensive desulfurization.
Attempts which are made with fine, zinc-containing, oxidic
Ores used for dezincification in the shaft furnace have shown
that a surprisingly extensive dezincification can be achieved without difficulty
can. There has also been achieved the important advantage that that with the gas flow
escaping zinc oxide could be obtained in a completely pure state.

ferner, daß der Flammofen durch das schmelzende Erz sehr stark angegriffen wird;

The process, however, involves flame furnace work. It is known that work in the flame furnace
is considerably more expensive than working in a shaft furnace due to the high coal consumption,
also that the furnace is very badly attacked by the melting ore;
also the work in the furnace can only be carried out discontinuously locally.
The Schachtofenarbcit avoids these disadvantages, since it allows with a
