Vorrichtung zur Bewegungsübertragung in flüssigen oder gasförmigen
Medien.
Letzteres
erstreckt sich etwa über einen Winkel von Z40°.Device for the transmission of motion in liquid or gaseous form
Media. The invention relates to a device for the transmission of motion in liquids
or gaseous media. It consists of a propeller in the shape of two
with the cut surfaces of cylinder segments lying on top of one another, which in known
Way are mounted in a rotatable, cylinder segment-shaped housing. The latter
extends approximately over an angle of Z40 °.
Abb. i, Abb. 3 desgleichen,
des Gehäuses c. Der Propeller nimmt etwa die Lage der üblichen Schiffsschraube ein;
The accompanying figures show an embodiment of the device according to the invention in the form of a ship propulsion system, namely Fig. I the device in axial section, Fig. 2 a section along the line AB to Fig. I, Fig. 3, the same, the housing by i 80 ° is rotated, Fig. 4 shows a ship's hull with propulsion devices according to the invention provided on the stern arid bow. According to Fig. I, the device consists of a tube a which is fastened to the hull and in which a housing b is rotatably arranged. The latter is designed in the shape of a segment of a cylinder in its lower part c, so that the tendons form an angle of approximately 120 ° (Figs. 2 and 3). An adjusting lever d firmly connected to the housing enables the housing to be rotated around its axis from the ship. In: tubular part b of the housing, a drive shaft e is rotatably mounted, which at its lower end carries a propeller f located in the housing c. The latter has the shape of two cylinder segments lying on top of one another (Fig. E, 2 and 3). The chords of the cylinder segments lying on top of one another and their heights are here somewhat smaller (e.g. by 111o mm) than the inner diameter or the inner height of the housing c. The propeller takes about the position of the usual ship's propeller; In contrast to the latter, however, it rotates in a horizontal plane. The propeller receives a number of revolutions of about 25oo to 5,000 revolutions per minute through the intermediary of the drive shaft e. As can be seen from Figs. 2 and 3, the propeller emerges with its two blades alternately from the housing c during the rotation.
Vorrichtung in Wegfall.
Experiments have shown that at a correspondingly high speed
of the propeller, the water is not conveyed into the housing c, but rather this
remains evacuated, so that the propeller the force transmitted through it to the water
releases and pushes the hull forward. The direction in which
the hull moves is determined by the position of the opening of the housing
c. Tests have shown that the hull of the ship shown in Fig
Position of the housing and in the direction of rotation of the indicated by the arrow
Propeller receives a direction of movement indicated by arrow g. If you turn that
Housing c by 180 ° into the position shown in Fig. 3, without changing the direction of rotation of the
To change propellers, the hull of the ship moves in the opposite direction
Direction (arrow h). By changing the housing c, as already known,
given the opportunity to change the direction of travel of the ship at will: .indem
and control the same. The ship can be turned on an extremely small radius
will. The time-consuming docking and departure of ships comes with the introduction of the
Device in omission. For example, if you own a ship, as shown in Fig. 4,
at the bow and stern on both sides a drive device according to the invention, so can
the ship by corresponding position of the housing c both in the keel line as
can also be moved perpendicular to the same (arrows).
The steam turbine or the electric motor are most expediently used as the drive machine for the device according to the invention. Both machines are suitable. because of the high speeds possible with them (250o to 5000 revolutions per minute) extremely well for the present purpose.
The method of manufacturing the arrangement according to the invention is simple
and cheap. The simple shape of the propeller allows one and the same
Force under the same conditions a significantly higher number of revolutions
than with the usual screws. The fact that the device according to the invention
can be attached to the front and rear of the ship is the advantage
achieves that never both propulsion devices at the same time in large storms
step out of the water.
In the same way, the device according to the invention for
Propulsion used by aircraft; but it can also be used to
to set liquid or gaseous media in motion, e.g. B. water or air
to promote any direction. This is of course in contrast to that
described embodiment of the ship propulsion, the drive device fixed.
