Description
Artikulator. Articulator. For the purpose of making individual crowns for @ -clothing carious teeth, an articulator was made from plaster of paris, in which - as long as the plaster of paris is still soft - the wax impression of the tooth to be disguised has been fitted a suitable seal was cut into the plaster cheeks beforehand and the second plaster jaw was poured onto this.
The disadvantages of this type of manufacture of the articulator are one disproportionately arduous and cumbersome work and waste of materials related to of plaster ;. Furthermore, the one cut out by hand in each individual case Closure cannot be made exactly.
With the invention, with which you can articulate all types of ring crowns and can be exchanged with another ring impression after completion, the previous disadvantages fixed.
The essence of the invention is that both for the purpose of manufacture of a counterprint only for the individual tooth crown to be manufactured accordingly narrowly dimensioned and with suitable, in the closed state a mutual agility Articular jaws equipped with completely exclusive guide means in this way full material - suitably metal - are worked that in each jaw only ever an expediently dovetail-shaped undercut recess remains; latter serves in one of the jaws to accommodate the one that surrounds the crown ring in a known manner Crown impression made of wax o. The like. And in the other jaw to accommodate the for Generation of the counter-impression required plaster of paris, which the latter on this Way is limited only to the absolutely necessary economical measure.
The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary manner in the drawing Embodiment shown in perspective, namely shows: Fig.r the upper articulator jaw, Fig. 2 the lower jaw, Fig. 3 a combination of the two jaws.
The articulator consists of two jaws 1, 2, which are attached to each other Support surfaces with elevations 3 and corresponding depressions 4 are provided. One end of both jaws t, 2 is provided with a groove 5, which is advantageous Is dovetail-shaped.
When these two jaws are put together, the rises come 3 of one jaw into the correspondingly formed depressions 4. of the other Jaw to lie, so that a very precise determination of the two jaws against each other he follows.
With this combination, a correspondingly large cavity is created between the two jaws r, 2 formed by the groove 5, which, filled with plaster, serves to articulate the crown impression.
The use of this articulator is as follows: After the tooth prepared, d. H. is cut accordingly, a gold ring is on the same adjusted, in such a way that the ground tooth is completely in the gold ring and no part of it protrudes from the ring. A wax stamp is then placed on it placed on the ground tooth provided with your rings, whereupon clenching takes place, so that the very exact negative impression of an opposing tooth is printed in the `pocket will. Then the wax impression with the ring is taken out. The ring will be in the groove 5 of one jaw z of the articulator is plastered, then in the groove 5 of the other cheek: 2 plaster poured in, and, as long as it is still soft, the metal jaws i, 2 are pressed together so that on the latter Jaw 2 gives the exact positive impression of the opposing tooth. Until the plaster of paris hardens the plaster parts of the articulator are heated, which softens the wax and you the two jaws r, 2 can easily open without damaging the counterprint. As soon as this is done, the same processing of the gold crown takes place as before was the case with the usual articulators, d. H. the occlusal surface is modeled, punched, soldered together, worked out and then put on.
You only need a fraction of plaster to make the recesses 5 of the Metal jaws r, 2 pour plaster of paris. The cumbersome and time-consuming production the depressions and elevations (closure) are completely omitted here, since the same are located in the metal jaws that are used for all tooth crowns from the start (i.e. molars and molars) can be used so that they are not for every individual tooth crowns have to be cut into plaster of paris. The E% closure can therefore be manufactured and processed very precisely, which is not the case in plaster of paris is easily possible. Since you only need relatively little plaster and the same does not have to be specially shaped to the jaws, but "only for easy filling of the recesses 5 is required, the work is done very quickly and easily go yourself.
