Gegen Ende des Processes kann man die Temperatur bis zur theilweisen Zersetzung des überschüssigen Chlormagnesiums steigern. Hierauf läfst man die Masse erkalten, wobei sie erstarrt, weicht sie dann in Wasser auf, event, unter Zusatz von Salzsäure, um die ausgeschiedene Magnesia aufzulösen, und trennt dann durch Auslaugen das unlösliche Fluormagnesium von der löslichen Chlorverbindung.
