Description

1878.1878.

Klasse 85.Class 85.

HERMANN GOODSON in BERLIN. Ciosethahn mit bemessenem Spülwasserquantum.HERMANN GOODSON in BERLIN. Cioset tap with a measured quantity of flushing water.

Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 7. August 1878 ab.Patented in the German Empire on August 7, 1878.

The brass tap A, which is shown in section in the drawing, is fastened to the cast iron kettle] B by the screws xyz. The apparatus is placed under the hinged glasses of the closet in such a way that it rests on the guide rod of the valves. If the faucet is then connected to the water pipe, the water first enters the faucet's inlet and closes valve I. The triangular guide is attached so that it is not pushed sideways or bent by the water pressure. If the closet is used, this valve I is opened again by the weight of the person, but valve II is closed. The water now enters the air chamber and fills it as far as the compressed air contained therein allows it. The air chamber is so large that it absorbs enough water for flushing the cioset. When the person leaves the seat, the water pressure opens valve II and closes valve I. The water that has accumulated in the kettle is now pressed by the compressed air through valve II into the cioset basin. In order for the valves to close slowly and thereby avoid harmful bumps in the pipe, the stuffing box filled with hemp is screwed very tightly so that the guide rod of the valves slides slowly up and down. The entrance to the faucet has a smaller diameter than the other parts, because the water has sufficient time to fill the kettle when the cioset is used, but after a quick and vigorous flushing of the basin is necessary.

The kettle can be made in various shapes, e.g. B. in saddle, cone or Cylinder shape, as the space under the closet clothing allows.

This Cioseth tap should preferably prevent water from being wasted.
