Device for regulating the attack on mechanical musical instruments. Mechanical musical instruments regulate the tone or touch strength by throttling organs. Each instrument uses one or two of these, so that at best one throttle device is required for each half of the game. Even if the game can still be animated by special emphasis devices, the fact remains that all these devices always act on one half of the game. However, this restriction is not sufficient to reproduce a truly individual game, since, as with a personal presentation, each individual note requires a precisely measured force setting. The present invention eliminates this imperfection in the following way: In piano playing devices, the individual tones are struck in a known manner by a playing bellows each, which is denoted by A in the drawing. According to the invention, a throttle element is now switched on in the airway to each of these bellows, that is to say for each tone in particular, which is shown in the drawing as a slide valve B, but can be designed in any other form. As now the stop of each tone takes place in a known manner in that holes in a sliding piano roll in the desired manner release openings in the suction block, which are connected to the game pneumatics of the stop bellows A, so the new throttle member is pneumatically controlled, through special openings in the Suction holder, which correspond to special perforations in the piano roll. The new suction unit openings are in connection with the valve Dl (pre-station), DZ (main station) and the regulating bellows C, which actuates the throttle element through its movement. The valve B is set for each key so that it allows a stop ppp when the associated opening in the suction cup is closed. Depending on the desired impact force, the control openings are opened for a longer or shorter period of time through corresponding perforations in the music paper, the vacuum in the relevant control bellows C is reduced or canceled accordingly and the spring _P can open the tallow C and thus the throttle body. If the opening in question is closed again, the bellows C is drawn together again by the suction effect of the air and the valve is thus closed. every attack from ppp to fff can thus be reached for every single note in every moment of the automatic game.
The invention can also be used to improve reproduction
for orchestrions, self-playing violins and other automatic musical works.
