Stand der TechnikState of the art
The invention relates to a high-pressure fuel injector
according to the preamble of claim 1. A known force
Fuel injection pump of this type has as a seal the pump work
space compared to a pump guided in a cylinder bore
piston a gap seal with a small gap between the
Cylinder bore and the pump piston guided therein
on the one hand the friction between the pump piston and the cylinder
bore is reduced and the outflow in the pump work area
are under high pressure during the delivery stroke of the pump piston
Inhibits medium at this point. This form of ab
However, there are limits to the seal, since with increasing pressure in the
Pump work space also the remaining leakage mass flow of the medium
increases so that this known form of sealing between pumps
Workspace and pump pistons for high-pressure injection pumps are not
is sufficient.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
The high pressure injection pump according to the invention with the characteristic
Features of claim 1 has the advantage that
through the use of a labyrinth gap seal according to the invention
between pump piston and cylinder liner even at high pressures in the
Pump work space only a small leakage mass flow is generated, so
that with fixed injection parameters a higher maximum pressure in
Injection system can be achieved.
This improvement in the sealing effect between the relative to each other
Moving jacket surfaces brings about especially in diesel systems
injection, for example between the pump piston and the
Cylinder bushing of the fuel injection pump or between the nozzle needle
and housing especially at very high pressures, such as for modern ones
Internal combustion engines are required to have great advantages
their operating behavior and durability. You can also
the original tolerances of the sealing surfaces are maintained,
what besides the manufacture of the labyrinth gap seal that none
requires special precision, the manufacturing effort for pumps
not significantly increased with this type of sealing.
Pumpe-Düse-Elementen) ist die Anordnung der Labyrinthspaltdichtung
einfach und damit deren Verwendung besonders vorteilhaft.
Weitere Vorteile und vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen sind den
Zeichnungen, der Beschreibung und den Ansprüchen entnehmbar. For injection systems without control edges in the pump piston and without
Holes in the outer surface of the pump room (e.g.
Pump-nozzle elements) is the arrangement of the labyrinth gap seal
simple and therefore particularly advantageous to use.
Further advantages and advantageous configurations are the
Drawings, the description and the claims.

Beschreibung der AusführungsbeispieleDescription of the embodiments
The description of the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 is limited to that used to explain the invention, the components of a known high-pressure injection pump. In this case, a pump piston 2 guided therein, which with its end face 3 delimits a pump work chamber 4 , is axially moved back and forth in a cylinder bore 1 in a cylinder liner shown in FIG. 1 by a cam drive, not shown. On the opposite side of the pump piston 2 , an injection line 6 leads from the pump work chamber 4 and connects it to an injection point, not shown, which can be, for example, an injection nozzle protruding into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. In addition, an inlet line 7 opens into the pump work chamber 4 in such a way that it is closed by the pump piston 2 in the course of the delivery stroke by passing over its lateral surface over the opening cross section. In the case of injection systems without control edges and control of the injection by means of electronically controlled valves, the feed line 7 can be omitted. The pump piston 2 has on its outer surface a plurality of annular grooves 10 arranged in series at the same distance from one another, the dimensions of which are identical and the labyrinth gap seal 12 between the respective intermediate webs 11 creates a labyrinth gap seal 12 between the outer surfaces of the pump piston 2 and the cylinder bore 1 which are moved relative to one another form. The outer surfaces of the webs 11, between the adjacent annular grooves 10 are referred to as sealing tips 13, wherein between the inner wall surface of the cylinder bore 1, and the surface parallel to the sealing tips 13 remains a gap 16, which preferably has a gap height (s) of 2 to 3 .mu.m having. The annular grooves 10 are delimited in the direction of the piston interior by a flat groove base 17 , the depth (t) of the annular grooves 10 preferably being approximately 1/4 of the distance (a) between two sealing tips 13 . Below the gap of the labyrinth gap seal 12 run over the area of the wall surface of the cylinder bore 1 is on the side facing away from the pump work chamber 4 a leakage oil lock groove 14 in the form of a circumferential annular groove in the wall surface of the cylinder bore 1 , from which for the purpose of removing the Fuel runs out a drain hole 15 .
The second exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2 is constructed analogously to that described in FIG. 1 and differs from it only in the embodiment of the labyrinth gap seal 12 , which here consists of a plurality of annular grooves 20 arranged in the wall surface of the cylinder bore 1 , the spacing from one another and dimensions are also the same size. These annular grooves 20 also form, with the webs 21 formed between them, the labyrinth gap seal 12 , which thus likewise acts between the circumferentially moving lateral surfaces of the pump piston 2 and the cylinder bore 1 , this embodiment having the advantage that the annular grooves 20 arranged in the cylinder bore 1 prevent the grooves from being transported as they are not moved axially.
On the sectional view of the first exemplary embodiment from FIG. 1 shown in FIG. 3, the function of the labyrinth gap seal 12 can be seen . The medium (preferably fuel) flowing out of the pump work chamber 4 in the direction of the arrow first arrives with a laminar flow into the gap 16 which is present between the pump piston 2 and the cylinder bore 1 . In the further course, the flow reaches the area of the annular grooves 10 of the labyrinth gap seal 12 , where the sealing tips 13 act as throttling points on the mass flow, the tips 13 , the edge of which, in the flow direction, is sharp-edged, this throttling effect by an increased constriction of the flow reinforce lines. In the area of the subsequent annular groove 10 , the flow expands, the kinetic energy which arises in the process being reduced by swirling the flow in the groove base 17 . The entropy generation associated therewith reduces the further flow of the flowing medium and the redirection of the flow at the front edge of the sealing tip delays the re-establishment of a fully developed gap flow, so that with increasing number of annular grooves 10 and thus sealing tips 13 the leakage mass flow from the medium flowing away from the pump work chamber 4 decreases. As is known, a small residual amount of the mass flow collects after passing through the labyrinth gap seal 12 in the leakage oil blocking groove 14 arranged in the further course of the inner wall surface of the cylinder liner 1 . Fig. 4 shows some execution forms of the annular grooves 10 , 20 depending on the flow direction of the medium, which is indicated by the arrow. The wall surfaces of the annular grooves can be inclined both perpendicular to the pump piston axis and at an angle from the wall surface opposite to the flow direction of the medium.
