Danach ist eine Schutzmatratze beispielsweise oberhalb der Fahrer- und Beifahrertür im seitlichen Dachrahmen so angeordnet, daß sie sich im aufgeblasenen Zustand zwischen Türe und B-Säule und Kopf sowie Oberkörper befindet. Diese Schutzmatratze wird durch ein Zweiwandgewebe mit Abstandsfäden gebildet und durch eine Gaserzeugerschnur aufgeblasen. Bei einer solchen aus der DE-OS 39 32 576 bekannten Gaserzeugerschnur wird das Gas unmittelbar an der benötigten Stelle erzeugt, d. h. zeitraubende Strömungsvorgänge entfallen. Das System weist daher die bei einem Seitenaufprall erforderliche kurze Reaktionszeit auf. Die Gaserzeugerschnur kann in beliebiger Weise, z. B. in Zick- Zack-Form, in der Mitte oder gänzlich auf einer Seite in der Schutzmatratze angeordnet sein. B. Naht, Vulkanisierung oder Klebung verschlossen sind.1.
