Description
The invention relates to a method for determining the Time for a change of lubricating oils, esp especially in heat engines, with sensors for measurement value acquisition, an evaluation unit for determination the actual state of the lubricating oil, which is specified with a baren target state is compared, and an on Show device that shows the deviation of the actual state indicates the target state, and / or in the event of a deviation the actual state from the target state of predetermined Tolerance limits generates an alarm signal. Likewise be this invention meets a device for through implementation of this procedure.
Usually a change of lubricating oils, esp especially in heat engines, made when one from the manufacturer of the heat engine or the Lubricating oil reached a generally specified point in time becomes. This point in time can be agreed operating time of the heat engine be, or, in a motor vehicle engine, by the distance traveled. Such a given time point for changing lubricating oils but not the individual operating conditions, which the lubricating oil in various thermal power machines is subject. On the one hand, this can lead to that not early under extremely harsh operating conditions the lubricating oil is changed early enough, and thus the service life of the heat engine is reduced and, secondly, with a low stress the lubricating oil change unnecessarily early is taken. The latter is not just uneconomical Lich, but also has an unnecessary environmental impact result or the still usable lubricating oil must be disposed of as special waste in a special and complex manner.
In the generic prior art, EP 0 174 601, is a warning system to detect the lubricant decomposition due to aging processes known by the determination of the oil temperature, the engine speed as well as the engine load conclusions on the Lubricant quality should enable. The above However, measurement parameters depend only indirectly on that Degree of aging of the oil, so that for further loading detune certain algorithms must be applied, the only theoretical Aus Allow say about the oil quality. In addition, in this publication Possibility of measuring parameters for direct determination the degree of oil alert, such as that Viscosity, the basic properties and the Proportion of solid components of the oil as very difficult classified.
In DE-OS 32 28 195 A1, there is already a method to monitor the time of the lubricating oil change disclosed for an automotive engine with which the right and optimal time for a lubricating oil change should be determined, as well as a device to carry out this procedure. With this procedure The aging condition of the lubricating oil is due the amount of contaminants in the lubricating oil, being mixed with the lubricating oil as an impurity or suspended carbon black is indicated in this. Here will suspen in the lubricating oil during engine operation dated amount of soot from the detected with a first sensor number of engine revolutions per unit of time and engine load detected with a second sensor, in one Computing device determined and in a memory direction added up to a predetermined value an alarm signal for changing the lubricating oil is produced. Such a process is, as in the DE OS 32 28 195 A1 specified, especially for a die selmotor is an advantage.
However, this method has the disadvantage that the im Lubricating oil suspended amount of soot only arithmetically below Using an empirical equation and not the properties of the lubricating oil itself can be detected in situ using sensors. There is also the device from the generic state of the art nik from several separate items, such as. B. Load sensors, engine speed sensors, timers and switches SW1 to SW3, the individually to the control unit are closed.
The problem underlying the invention is a method to determine the time for a change from Lubricating oils, especially in heat engines give the properties of the lubricating oil in situ are detected and evaluated by means of sensors and based on the evaluation results to the operator of the heat mekraftmaschine the optimal time for lubrication oil change depending on the individual loading operating conditions and the type of lubrication used oil is displayed. The fact should be exploited be that lubricating oils usually from long chain Hydrocarbons exist, which is a comparative low relative dielectric constant (epsilon ≈3) and that oiling next to the chain short formation due to thermal influences and / or shear forces also an oxidation of the oil, i.e. the installation of O- or OH groups in the molecules, whereby the polar character of the molecule and thus the dielectric constant Epsilon increases.
Another object of the invention is a device to carry out the method according to the invention give that with known methods from silicon Technology and IC manufacturing in less expensive Way is producible and in which to carry out the procedure required sensors, and the elec electronics for processing and evaluating the sensor signal le are integrated on a chip, so that connection cables and associated signal falsifications are practical be avoided. Here, the front according to the invention direction have a temperature resistance that in Range from approx. 30 ° C to approx. + 200 ° C, whereby for the upper temperature has an operating time of at least 10,000 hours should be reached.
Furthermore, the device according to the invention should be such be designed so that they have no structural changes can be used on the heat engine, e.g. B. for a motor vehicle engine in the place of there used oil temperature sensor or oil pressure sensor.

The first task mentioned above is solved by the in the characterizing part of claim 1 given characteristics. Beneficial Refinements of the device according to the invention, especially with regard to further requirements the invention are in the subclaims 7 to 15 specified.
The advantages of the invention are in particular that with the inventive method, the lubricating oil itself and its lubrication-relevant parameters be monitored and evaluated in situ that the current, actual condition of the lubricating oil itself is determined. The device according to the invention to carry out the procedure compared to the state the technology has the main advantage that it is in ko most favorably with known methods from the Silicon technology and IC manufacturing in small and compact design can be manufactured and that those necessary to carry out the procedure Sensors and electronics for processing and Evaluation of the sensor signals integrated in a chip are, whereby unnecessary connection cable expenditure and signal distortions that may arise be avoided.
Another with the device according to the invention The advantage achieved is the temperature resistance of the Chips for operating temperatures from approx. -30 ° C to approx. + 200 ° C, with an operating for the upper temperature duration of at least 10,000 hours can.
Another advantage arises from the aforementioned Integration in that the device without special effort in their external dimensions of identical construction with existing components such as oil thermometers or oil pressure sensor can be formed so that for no use of the device according to the invention structural changes to the heat engine not are agile.

Fig. 2 shows the device according to the invention in a sectional view, mounted on a mechanical support of an existing component, such as. B. Oil pressure sensor.
In the method according to the invention, at the same time the parameters pressure, temperature and viscosity as well as in the embodiment described here also the pH Value of the lubricating oil recorded in situ. The sensor signals are then processed in a manner known per se and fed to an evaluation unit. In the evaluation then the unit from the parameters of the Lubricating oil determined actual state with that in one Storage unit stored predetermined target state compared and the deviation of the actual state from Desired state shown on a display device. Advantageously, if the actual State of the target state of also in the Spei predefined tolerance limits generates an alarm signal.
The device according to the invention shown in FIGS . 1 and 2 for carrying out this method consists (see FIG. 2) of a silicon chip 1 , with an edge length of typically 10 mm, which consists of a silicon wear layer 15 of a layer thickness of approximately 1 μm, an underlying insulation layer 16 and a silicon carrier body 17 is constructed. The silicon carrier body 17 has a recess 20 etched free from the rear, in the region of which the insulation layer 16 is also completely or only partially etched away. This area of the silicon wear layer 15 serves as a pressure sensor membrane 2 , the deflection of which is detected by means of piezoresistive resistors 3 integrated in this membrane.
In the supervision shown in Fig. 1, the Bele supply of the wear layer 15 is shown. Via the electrical connections 13 , the supply voltage is supplied and the output signal provided for the display device is removed. The pressure sensor membrane 2 with the integrated piezoresistive resistors 3 is located in the middle of the chip. In the upper area, the temperature sensor 4 consisting of a pn diode and a platinum coil and the pH sensor 5 consisting of a MOS transistor with an H angeordnet-sensitive gate are arranged. To the right of it are the elements 12 , namely amplifiers and A / D converters, and voltage regulation, which are required to prepare the signals generated by the pH sensor 5 and the pressure sensor 2 , 3 . The sensor structures required to determine the viscosity are located in the left area of the chip. In the embodiment shown here, the viscosity is determined via the capacitive determination of the dielectric constant of the lubricating oil at at least two frequencies which differ significantly from one another, preferably with a frequency in the kHz and one in the MHz range. Since the dielectric constant or polarizability essentially depends on the frequency as a function of the molecular size and intrinsic viscosity, and "long" molecules at high frequencies follow the change in direction of the electric field more slowly than short ones, so a statement about the proportion of lubrication-relevant long-chain molecules can be made in relation to the proportion of already "used" molecules. The data required for this from the experimental relationship between the dielectric constant and the technical lubricity of the oil are made available in the storage unit 11 . For capacitive determination of the dielectric constant, capacitance structures 6 and 7 are formed in the left region of the chip in the manner of an interdigital structure, which are controlled via ring oscillators 8 and 9 .
In another embodiment, the viscosity of the oil is measured via the damping of sound waves. The oil is excited with a piezo crystal to vibrate, which spreads in the oil. The viscosity now influences the damping of the vibration and can therefore be determined by measuring the amplitude curve. For this purpose, a piezo oscillator is arranged on an area of the chip or the usable area 15 , e.g. B. by sputtering piezoactive substances such as ZnO. The evaluation unit 10 is arranged in the lower area of the chip, in which the processing and evaluation of all sensor signals takes place and the actual state of the lubricating oil is determined and compared with the target state specified in the storage unit 11 . The deviation of the actual state from the target state is shown via a display device, not shown here, and if necessary an alarm signal is generated if the deviation of the actual state from the target state exceeds a predefinable tolerance limit.
The areas of usable space that are not in direct Contact with the lubricating oil are in known manner with a not shown here Provide protective layer.
The formation of the device in SOI technology results a temperature resistance of the device for the Range from approx. -30 ° C to + 200 ° C.
As shown in FIG. 2, the device according to the invention for installation in a heat engine is attached to a mechanical support 19 by means of a soldered connection 18 . The mechanical support 19 is, for. B. a screw 19 , on which an oil pressure sensor was previously attached. Therefore, the device according to the invention can be used without making structural changes to the heat engine.
Without restricting the general idea of the invention can the arrangement of the sensor elements, the Aufbe the signals generated by the sensor elements required elements, the evaluation unit and the Storage unit also in another suitable manner gene.
