Abstract

To repair vehicle windows, especially costly compound windows for protection against shots where optical surface defects can occur after a long time in use, a glass pane (3) with a similar surface is bonded to at least one outer side of the cpd. glass pane (1). They are held together during an extended fluid phase of the adhesive (2) used for bonding. The adhesive is a pouring resin with a viscosity of more than 300cP, which is transparent and free of light scattering and diffusion, with a refractive index equal to that of the glass. The surface of the glass pane is polished with peroxide powder and a polishing felting, for adhesive bonding, and residual polishing material is removed by ethyl alcohol. The resin has low polymerisation kinetics, to give an extended fluid phase of up to 80 hrs. The intermediate resin layer (2) is of flexed epoxy resin with cyclo-aliphate amines as the hardening components, with a crosslinking deg. of about 0.8. The resin layer (2) has a thickness of about 0.1mm. The applied glass pane (3) has a thickness of 0.5-10.0mm. ADVANTAGE - Elimimates surface faults on the glass, which would affect vision, without extensive polishing and grinding.

Description

The invention relates to a method for repairing power vehicle windows, especially high quality composite security washers with anti-bullet properties that last long years of use disruptive optical surface defects sen.

The effect of various mechanical and chemical attacks over long periods of time leads to glass defects the largely on the outer surface of the composite discs can be found. As are obstructing glass defects Crater of rockfalls, the energy of which is the first glass pane of the composite often up to the next, small breaks open plastic intermediate layer, to name. Further Surface injuries are caused by dust, sand and other ver dirt caused by windshield wipers, Reini measures, covering with tarpaulins and the like reinforced. The consequences are scratches on the glass surfaces, of which Light refraction, particularly with deeper scratch marks going out. Lead so-called hair scratches to scattered light, making driving difficult stuff considerably. Especially with directed backlight, e.g. B. by vehicle headlights, driving the vehicle can be full be constantly prevented. Scattered light causes a reduction the image contrast because the actual image on the retina a (scatter) light curtain is superimposed.

Through various chemical agents, such as sulfur compounds gen, soot, oil, silicones and general air pollution, In addition, a covering that can hardly be removed is created on the Glass surface and thus a visual impairment due to absorption tion and scattering of light rays.

Special safety panes, the electrically heated intermediate layers, radiation protection glasses or other optical special glasses in the composite combination can also include are preferably cast and sealed in stainless steel frames, have a high manufacturing price; nevertheless the Outer pane not damaged after many years of use just exchange for a new one. To improve visibility are complex polishing work or the replacement of the whole Composite panes against completely new known.

The invention is based on the object of a method create the reuse of the surface composite panes by removing all obstructions made possible without complex polishing work.

Surprisingly, this task is solved by that at least the outside of the laminated glass pane with a glass with the same area while maintaining a longer one Liquid phase of the adhesive used is glued. Because of the capillary action begins, preferably at higher temperatures, the cast resin in cracks, cracks and scratches of the damaged To hike glass, fill it in and, due to the Refractive index adjustment, optically becomes a medium without recognizability of the old glass defects created. The hereby achievable Parts continue to consist of procuring new ones instead of one expensive expensive composite safety washers permitted with new surfaces, can be used again without errors is coming. Gluing a thicker pane to the existing one Tempered glass also increases the ballistic strength of the Association that today often has higher security requirements must suffice as, for example, a decade ago. Strength decreases in the plastic interlayer that has aged over the years ten of the laminated glass are eliminated. Also from the point of view  disposal of heavy armored glasses is required partial, as they do not have to be sent to a landfill.

A casting resin with a viscosity of <300 cP, which is transparent and free from scattered light and whose refractive index n D is the same as that of the respective glass, is preferably used as the adhesive. Due to the low polymerization kinetics, the casting resin has a longer liquid phase of up to eighty hours. Before the casting resin is applied, it is advantageous to clean the surface of the laminated glass in a polishing process with cerium oxide powder and polishing felt and then to remove polishing residues with ethyl alcohol.

By choosing suitable front glasses, e.g. B. chemically tense, containing barium or phosphorus, anti-reflective on one side or tinted in color, the method according to the invention can be white ter be designed advantageously.

To manufacture the composite system according to the invention is single Lich cleaning the damaged pane with a polisher medium and alcohol, pouring the casting resin onto the ge damaged surfaces and the final, bubble-free opening placing the new glass pane with subsequent polymerization of the resin in the convection oven.

In the drawing is a schematic according to the invention Process produced embodiment in cross section provided and explained below.

To an automotive laminated glass pane 1 of a mold resin 2 in which gezeig th sample on both sides a respective glass pane 3 by means of glued. This results in a new, compact layer system consisting of the laminated safety glass 1 , the cast resin layers 2 and the glass panes 3 . The layer system is finally sealed all around with a silicone rubber 4 . The surface defects that lead to the above-mentioned visual obstructions are missing.
