Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an insulating layer for landfills, in particular for man-made landfills for the Storage of household and industrial waste. The insulating layer is doing both as the lower sealing layer as well as used as a cover layer and has a good Processing capability.
A variety of methods and materials are known for the disposal of waste products, the above-ground Landfill for household waste Has priority. This will help to retain pollutants from landfill leachate, which is also household waste occur, the final disposal of the waste between diverse Sealing layers proposed (DE-OS 3 71 884). This is a sealing layer consisting of mineral Sealing materials, e.g. As clay minerals, an adsorption layer associated with admixtures containing are able to pollutants contained in the leachate by physical and / or chemical adsorption to bind. In the knowledge that landfill leachate not completely, but only the laminates contained therein be withheld by one directed seeping process the pollutants contained in the water retained. Due to the thickness and the composition The adsorption layers can in principle all types of pollutants are withheld. The purpose However, described technical solution has reason of the various layers a complex and costly inner structure on. For landfills for the storage of household waste and harmless industrial waste are provided, are insulating layers with a uniform Material composition is technically easier to apply Furthermore, they are cheaper to use.
Described is still a method for disposal of incorporated waste materials, materials being themselves known type based on lime, quartz and silica components, with or without the addition of cements and / or gas formers, for incorporating the waste materials can be used (DE-OS 38 38 676). The material component is doing in an unreacted pre-state as Suspension mixture in liquid, pulpy or gelatinous Form filled in the cavities of the final deposit and hardened by introducing heat. The procedure itself is technically complex and is therefore for final disposal of waste materials that are only deposited above ground are, for. Asbestos-containing waste, provided.
The object of the invention is the use of an insulating layer, due to their composition a physical and chemical adsorption of pollutants from the leachate caused by landfills. The insulating layer consists of naturally occurring minerals associated with industrial Kalkabprodukten be mixed. She lets herself, conditionally through the internal structure, before application outdoors Store in all weather conditions and show at Spend a good bulkhead.
It has been found that known mixtures of a earthy silty-calcareous magnesium marl (middle Muschelkalk) and from 5-15% calcareous waste materials from lime and cement production with good physical and chemical adsorption effect as an insulating layer can be used for landfills.

The schluffig-calcareous magnesium marl becomes common with products of lime and / or cement production, as chemically active ingredients 55-90% Mass proportions contain CaCO₃, in the mixing ratio 1: 10 up to a grain size vin = 20 mm by means of multi-stage Fine rolling processed. During processing, the in the wet mixture existing calcium ions in the Grid of magnesium gel installed. It arises Grained spreadable insulating material, free-standing and is pourable.

As described in the literature, will be at the limit between the landfill leachate and the surface of the Insulating layer formed a phase boundary area under the influence of the electrostatic forces of the molecules of the Solution and solid body stands. Depending on the type and characteristics the solid body finds an accumulation of Ingredients of the liquid phase at the surface of the solid body, which is called adsorption. One differentiates according to the type of binding of the dissolved ones Particles to the molecules of the solid between the chemical and physical fixing of the solution dissociated ions through polar bonds with the ions of the solid body.
On the other hand, physical adsorption becomes ions or molecules of solution by van der Waals forces tied to the solid body.
It has been shown that through the use of insulating layers with the composition according to the invention a reasonable layer thickness all contained in the leachate Pollutants can be retained. The Insulation layer is in any case on the lower soil applied to the landfill. The layer thickness is dependent on the amount and composition of waste materials. According to current knowledge is a layer thickness from about 0.40 to 1.00 meters sufficient for the lower Insulating layer, in the application of an upper insulating layer a layer thickness = 0.5 meters is sufficient. The geometric The design of the landfill has no material effect on the insulating layer Influence. For landfills with a large slope angle can the insulating layer depending on the filling level of the Landfill at the embankments are constantly nachgetragen.
