Abstract

To produce milled felting from wool or hair, with embedded additives, non-woven layers of wool fibres are laid conventionally. Metal fibres are added to the laid layers, using noble metals, brass, silver bronze, or German silver. The layers with the metal fibres are combined to a single non-woven and carded. The material is felted and milled, using a fluid for the milling which does not attack the metal fibres, or hardly affects them. The material is finally dried and pressed into a solid or shaped felting body. ADVANTAGE - The metal fibres are firmly embedded in the material, and do not work free even when the felting is under heavy loading

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing rolled Felt made of wool and additives embedded in the felt.

Solidified felts are used in many different ways in industry needed. The introduction of textile additives prepares no difficulties, as these work well with the wool fibers of the fleece when carding, felting and flexing.

Difficulties are the introduction of solid additives, which do not matt themselves and do not bond with the wool fibers chain sufficiently.

As EP 01 78 577 A2 shows, it is known to use vacuum insert polishing and abrasive grains into a felt body. These Polishing and abrasive grains have a grain size below 1000 µm and are therefore not kept sufficiently in the felt body, so that they easily come off the felt during polishing and grinding to solve. With such felt bodies with embedded polishing and Abrasive grains are therefore only a negligible improvement of polishing and grinding performance.

As DE-OS 25 12 621 A1 shows, it has already been tried been to embed metal fibers in a fleece to a electrostatic shielding effect and an electrical  Achieve conductivity. It was shown that while carding the fiber mass from textile composites and metal fibers about 30% of the metal fibers added in short Fibers and dust have been cut and lost since they fell through the thin and light fleece. For this Basically, the metal fibers were continuously in the form of yarn, Woven or stripes or together with a yarn or strip-shaped carrier supplied to the surface of the fleece.

It is an object of the invention, a rolled felt of the beginning to create mentioned type in which metal fibers without difficulty are embedded in the felt and sufficiently held in it, so that it is very difficult even when the felt is stressed detach from the felt.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the wool fibers are formed in a known manner, that on the fleece layers as additives metal fibers made of precious metal, Brass, silver bronze or nickel silver are applied that the nonwoven layers provided with metal fibers to form a nonwoven several layers of embedded metal fibers are carded, that the fleece is felted and tumbled, with one when walking the metal fibers are not or only slightly attacking Milled liquid is used and that from the rolled felt with embedded metal fibers in a known manner by drying and pressing a piece or shaped felt is produced.

Since in many applications of felt the magnetic or electrical conductivity of the additives is not required is switched to metals that are not brittle and rust-free are. By using a matched to the metals  Whiting liquid becomes a chemical reaction when walking the metal fibers avoided. When carding the fleece layers connected together, the loosely applied metal fibers no longer separate from the wool fibers, hair and the like. When felting and milling one of these mixed with metal fibers The metal fibers are more tightly enclosed and fleece accordingly held more firmly in the felt, even if they themselves do not matt.

There is an easy way to apply the metal fibers in that the metal fibers are sprinkled on the nonwoven layers.

Is provided according to one embodiment that the with metal fibers provided fleece layers on a long fur or cross card can be carded, then the orientation of the metal fibers be influenced in the felt.

A preferred embodiment is characterized in that Metal fibers with a diameter of about 0.04 to about 0.08 mm and used with a length of about 50 to about 70 mm will.

The proportion of metal fibers on the nonwoven layers is preferred limited to about 30%.

If polishing or sanding felts are required, then this provided that embedded from the pressed molded felt Metal fibers by grinding and punching or turning Polishing or sanding felt bodies can be produced.

Es zeigt: The invention is illustrated in the drawings Embodiments explained in more detail. It shows:

Fig. 2 is a block diagram of a plant for producing a piece felt according to the method of the invention.

A bed is made from wool in a known manner and nonwoven layers are produced by wolfen and carding. As shown in Fig. 1, metal fibers are sprinkled on the nonwoven layers. These metal fibers are made of precious metal, brass, silver bronze, nickel silver or another elastic, rustproof metal. The metal fibers have a diameter of about 0.04 mm to about 0.08 mm and are about 50 to about 70 mm long. The concentration of the metal fibers is allowed up to about 20%. The fleece layers loaded with metal fibers are carded into a fleece in a long fur or cross card, in which several layers of metal fibers are embedded. The orientation of the metal fibers can therefore be made in the same direction in all layers or changed from layer to layer.

As shown in FIGS . 1 and 2, both a shaped felt and a piece felt can be produced from the nonwoven fabric produced in this way.

When producing a shaped felt, the fleece comes with the embedded metal fibers in a known manner via stations "Plucking" and "felting" to the walk station. Here is now on it made sure that the whale liquid on the metal fibers so it is agreed that this does not chemically decompose or attack will. For this purpose, z. B. organic acids.

The felted felt is then dried and pressed and can be available as a block or disk with a strength of up to about 0.9 g / cm 3 and a thickness of up to about 100 mm. After grinding, polishing or grinding bodies can be punched and turned from this shaped felt, the punching direction being selected so that the metal fibers are as perpendicular as possible to the polishing or grinding surface of the polishing or grinding body.

As shown in FIG. 2, the fleece with the embedded metal fibers can be fed directly to the walk station via a felt station. The milling fluid is again adapted accordingly to the metal fibers, so that they are attacked as little as possible during milling. A piece of felt can be produced in a known manner via further processes such as washing, dyeing, drying, shearing and pressing, which is wound up in a winding station.
