Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for cleaning with chlorinated and / or halogenated Hydrocarbon contaminated water.
Water contaminated with the hydrocarbons mentioned can be found, for example, in the area of military Plants, petrol stations, industrial companies, laundries or other trades, for example with aromatics is worked or degreased.
It is for cleaning such (ground) water known, the substances dissolved in water by means of air or to strip water vapor. By diffusion-related Mass transfer at the phase boundary occurs Exchange of chlorides and halides from water in the air. The result is a cleaned one Wastewater, but one with the pollutants mentioned contaminated exhaust air. In the past the Exhaust air either given directly into the atmosphere or performed at least over an activated carbon filter. While the direct release into the surrounding atmosphere completely is unacceptable, the activated carbon after cleaning Disadvantage that the activated carbon filter regenerates relatively often must become. This also affects disposal costs considerably.
The invention is based on the object, a Possibility of simple, safe and inexpensive Processing especially with chlorinated and halo to offer polluted water to polluted hydrocarbons.
The invention goes in accordance with the State of the art first of all from the consideration that the hydrocarbons first from the water a known stripping column (packed column) in the Exhaust air can be transferred. In contrast to the state of the However, the exhaust air is now installed in a downstream technology treated biological working second reactor, in where the exhaust air is contacted with microorganisms, who breathe (eat up) the hydrocarbons mentioned In this way, complete elimination takes place of the pollutants and it can be a completely cleaned one Exhaust air is released into the ambient atmosphere.
Depending on whether the exhaust air with smaller or larger Amounts of aromatics and other hydrocarbons contaminated is the invention offers two alternative execution shape. In the first variant, the exhaust air is through a biological filter material such as compost, peat or the like. In the second variant, the Exhaust air contacted with a nutrient solution that the contains mentioned microorganisms. The contacting is preferably carried out again in a packed column countercurrent, d. that is, while the exhaust air to Example from bottom to top through the packed column the nutrient solution is added from top to bottom with the result that the Fills a biological lawn on which the biological implementation expires. Any surplus sludge is withdrawn from the reactor and one can Sewage treatment plant are fed.
The inventive device for cleaning with chlorinated and / or halogenated hydrocarbons contaminated water shows in its most general Embodiment designed as a packed column first reactor, which is countercurrent to that to be cleaned Water can be supplied with fresh air and from which an exhaust duct to a downstream, biological working second reactor runs for contacting the contaminated withdrawn from the first reactor Exhaust air with chlorinated and / or halogenated hydrocarbons breathing microorganisms, being the second reactor a removal device for the biologically cleaned Has exhaust air.
If the second reactor designed as a biofilter is sufficient it, the exhaust air through the biological filter material, for example the compost. This can be supported with a blower. Depending on the load The biological filter material becomes the exhaust air with pollutants exchanged from time to time.
In the second embodiment, the nutrient solution preferably via a corresponding sprinkler device sprayed onto the packed column.
According to an advantageous embodiment, it is proposed that the supply line for the nutrient solution as a ring line form, with a portion of the ring line from Reactor itself is formed. The loop can be formed with a bypass to at least one Partial flow of the (used) nutrient solution from the Remove the ring line, prepare it and then the nutrient solution prepared in this way, if necessary with the addition of fresh nutrient solution, into the ring line or the sprinkler device. Here it goes without saying that the return line of the Bypasses in the direction of flow of the nutrient solution Tapping point on the ring line.
Other features of the device are set out below hand of the disposal method and the embodiments described in more detail, the generally applicable in this respect Features included. The procedure for cleaning with chlorinated and / or halogenated hydrocarbon substances contaminated water shows in its most general Embodiment following features:
The water to be cleaned is first of all by a designed as a packed column first reactor directed and in the counterflow of fresh air flows through,
The purified water is from the packed column led away,
- - die nun mehr die chlorierten und/oder halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffe enthaltende Abluft wird an schließend in einen zweiten Reaktor geführt, in dem- which are now more the chlorinated and / or halogenated Exhaust air containing hydrocarbons turns on finally led into a second reactor, in the
- - die Abluft mit Mikroorganismen kontaktiert wird, die die genannten Kohlenwasserstoffe veratmen,- the exhaust air is contacted with microorganisms, who breathe the hydrocarbons mentioned,
The cleaned exhaust air is then from the withdrawn second reactor and into the environment atmosphere released.
Suitable as packing material for the second reactor mainly molded plastic parts, but also inorganic ones Materials such as alkali / alkaline earth carbonates or ceramics. The fillers preferably have one if possible large surface for the formation of the biological lawn.
As already mentioned, the top of the reactor supplied nutrient solution preferably at the lower end removed again and returned via a ring line. Because the nutrient solution when passing through several times the reactor gradually consumed sees an advantage embodiment, a subset of the nutrient solution from the loop to prepare it and then feed it back to the feeder.
In this context, it is advantageous to deduct the Nutrient solution through at least one clarification (Sedimentation stage) where solid particles (for example components of the organic lawn, that have been torn off) can sediment.
Since the nutrient solution withdrawn from the reactor in usually has a pH below 7 (because it is due to the reaction of the microorganisms with oxygen Formation of hydrochloric acid) it is further advantageous one step in the preparation of the nutrient solution switch the pH back to neutral or to raise the alkaline range. This can be done by adding corresponding lyes (for example sodium hydroxide solution) but if also by adding fresh nutrient solution with the appropriate microorganisms. Close This treatment stage can be used for additional sediments tation level, for example separate precipitating salts (e.g. chlorides). It can then be a clean liquid with an appropriate concentrated content of microorganisms in the packing column are returned.
The sludge accumulated in the sedimentation stages becomes preferably that withdrawn directly from the reactor Excess sludge fed and disposed of together with it. Due to the biological post-purification of the exhaust gas in countercurrent to a water-activated sludge suspension become special bacteria on the packing surfaces immobilized. In the metabolism of the microorganisms components containing chloride oxidized and the products the reaction are discharged through the cell wall and released to the liquid. The chlorides will be - as shown - then discharged via the bypass and in the preparation stage described with addition appropriate lyes neutralized.
The process is compared to the known activated carbon process much simpler, more effective and cheaper. The relatively complicated regeneration of the burdened Activated carbon is avoided. The system is in become biologically stable.
Dabei zeigen jeweils in stark schematisierter DarstellungThe invention is based on two embodiments examples described in more detail. Each show in highly schematic representation
Fig. 1 ein Verfahrensschema zur Aufbereitung eines mit Kohlenwasserstoffen verseuchten Grundwassers mit einem Biofilter, Fig. 1 is a process scheme for processing a polluted with hydrocarbons groundwater with a biofilter,
Fig. 2 shows a process scheme for the treatment of a hydrocarbon contaminated groundwater with a bioreactor.
The figures show the same or equivalent components shown with the same reference numerals.
In the apparatus of Fig. 1, for example, a fountain (not shown) taken from the contaminated groundwater from the ground and pumped via a circulation pump 10 in the upper end of a first reactor 12, which is formed with a solid column 14. The water is sprayed through a nozzle 16 onto the solid-state column 14 , through which fresh air flows from below at the same time, which air is fed in via a blower 18 and a line 20 at the lower end of the reactor 12 .
Due to the contacting of the contaminated wastewater with the fresh air in counterflow, the hydrocarbons or aromatics (but also other pollutants) from water transferred into the air by diffusion processes.
The wastewater purified in this way collects in the lower part of the reactor 12 and is drawn off via the line 22 .
The contaminated exhaust air is removed from the upper end of the reactor 12 and fed via an exhaust air line 24 into the lower section of a second reactor 26 .
Above the area in which the exhaust air line 24 opens into the reactor 26 is a gas-permeable base 28 on which a biological filter material 30 made of natural compost rests.
The exhaust air flows through the biological filter material 30 , which was previously vaccinated with bacteria that respond to the pollutants mentioned and breathe them. For example, it is known that Pseudomonas breath formaldehyde. The biological filter material is preferably kept moist.
On the way through the biological filter material, the exhaust air is thus contacted with the microorganisms in the biological filter material, the hydrocarbons / aromatics are breathed in and at the upper end of the reactor, a cleaned exhaust air can be drawn off at 32 via a line 34 . The flow of exhaust air through the biological filter material 30 can be supported by a blower.
The biologically active reactor downstream of the solid-state column 14 enables the exhaust air to be cleaned in a simple but effective manner without any waste products being produced or maintenance being necessary. At most, the biological filter material may have to be replaced from time to time or the microorganisms mentioned topped up from time to time.
The process variant shown in FIG. 2 corresponds completely to the process scheme up to the entry of the exhaust air via the exhaust air line 24 into the second reactor 26 , as shown in FIG. 1.
Here, however, the second reactor 26 , like the first reactor 12 , is equipped with a solid-state column 40 . The solid-state column 40 , like the solid-state column 14, consists of a bed of plastic balls. A nutrient solution is sprayed onto the plastic balls via a line 42 above the solid column 40 . The nutrient solution contains microorganisms that are suitable for breathing out the pollutants in the exhaust air, in particular the chlorinated or halogenated hydrocarbons and aromatics mentioned, and thus rendering them harmless.
The second reactor 26 accordingly also works in the countercurrent process, the exhaust air being passed through the solid-state column 40 from bottom to top.
The cleaned exhaust air is in turn led away from the reactor 26 at 32 via a line 34 .
In the exhaust air treatment, a so-called biological lawn forms in the reactor 26 . Any excess sludge is discharged with the nutrient solution downwards and collected in a bottom sump 44 . A line 46 leads away from the bottom sump 44 , with which the liquid component (the nutrient solution) is returned via a pump 48 to the line 42 and thus back into the reactor 26 .
As can be seen in FIG. 2, a valve 49 is arranged along the line 46 , which takes a partial flow of the nutrient solution from the line 46 when it is in the appropriate position and conveys it to a secondary clarification stage 50 . In this secondary clarification stage 50 any solid particles sedimented, for example excess sludge removed from the reactor 26 with the nutrient solution. The clarified liquid in this way is then conveyed via an overflow 52 into a container 54 , into which a fresh nutrient solution is added via line 56 and / or an alkali, here sodium hydroxide solution, via line 58 . A motor (M) driven agitator 60 is carried out intimate mixing of the components with the aim that withdrawn from the reactor 26 acidic nutrient solution in their pH-value to the desired level, for example, pH 7 to lift. Another overflow valve 62 ensures that the neutralized nutrient solution from the container 54 is transferred to a further sedimentation stage 64 , where in turn solid particles (for example salts previously formed) are precipitated.
The sedimentation stage 64 is also in turn provided with an overflow 66 , from where the liquid is conveyed back via a line 68 into the line 42 or the reactor 26 . Excess liquid can be removed from line 68 via a valve 70 and carried away via a collecting vessel 72 .
As can be seen in FIG. 2, 64 pipes 74 , 76 are arranged at the lower end of the secondary clarification stage 50 or the sedimentation stage, which open into a transport line 78 . The transport line 78 leads from the bottom sump 44 into the collecting vessel 72 and serves to remove the excess sludge from the bottom sump 44 . The promotion of the excess sludge is supported by a sludge pump 80 .
The excess sludge removed from the collecting vessel 72 , possibly supplemented by excess nutrient solution, is then fed, for example, to a sewage treatment plant for further treatment.
It follows from the above that the area between the valve 49 and the connection area of the line 68 to the line 42 (valve 82 ) has the function of a bypass for the line 46 .
The associated one also works in this method variant Device practically without maintenance. It only needs disposal of any excess sludge and, if necessary, a treatment of used Nutrient solutions.
