Description
Method of making a matte oil paint. The present invention relates to a method for producing a matte oil paint. It is well known that the greatest decorative effect and depth of color is achieved by using matt colors. The previously known matt paints (glue paints), however, had the deficiency that they cannot tolerate being washed or coming into contact with moisture in any other way. The present invention overcomes these deficiencies by allowing the paint to be washed after painting without losing its dull tone. A mixture of fat, crude 01 is used as in the ordinary paints according to the invention as a carrier of the pigments, but in a mixture with lithopone and a volatile oil. It is already known to use Lithopon mixed with fatty oil as a paint, but it does not differ significantly from the usual oil paints, which are glossy. The matt surface is only achieved by adding the volatile oil.
The paint according to the invention can be applied directly to wallpaper, or painted unpainted walls as well as painted on metal and still retains the high decorative effect. It also has the advantage that, unlike the well-known glossy oil paints that have to be applied four times, only twice needs to be painted.
The paint according to the invention is produced in the following way: Lithopon is mixed with a volatile oil to form a liquid mass, which with further stirring, fatty, crude oil is added, which will cause the fabrics used form a good bond and obtain a matt appearance.
To achieve the correct color effect, the usual way Color powder or pigments added.
