Abstract
Description
The present invention includes a method and the associated devices with which in the sporty Discipline "long jump" more precise measurement results possible than these with the methods used so far can be reached.
It is known that in almost all sports disciplines, in competitions high demands on the accuracy of the determined results are provided. Both with the Competitions in athletics or swimming as well as in the diverse disciplines of winter sports u. a. through very precise time, height or width measurements determined the best performance. So in almost all sports disciplines by means of incorruptible Measurement methods of the respective master can be determined fairly. An exception to this is the classic discipline, the Long jump.
This sport is not with absolute accuracy to determine the actual jump distance. The method the measurement is imperfect because of it, only by a few Except for exceptional cases, the actually jumped Width does not indicate. It will only be the jump distance measured from the edge of a jump bar. The Distance between the toe of the jumper to to the edge of the bar, which is almost always of different sizes, is not taken into account when dimensioning the jump distance, it is lost.
The jump measurement point is always the same front edge of the jump bar. The toe of the Springers must not cross this edge, otherwise the jump is declared invalid. Of the Springer is aimed at as close as possible to the edge to jump off the jump bar by little or nothing to be assigned based on the actual jump distance. Almost at every jump is the distance between the toes and the edge is different, often leading to significant deductions from the actual jump distance.
The known number of jumps declared invalid is very often at the risk taken by the jumper attributable to come as close as possible to the jump edge. Crossing the edge is often the result of this risk.
With the present invention, that is shown Lack of both measurement accuracy, measurement accuracy and concerns about the risk.
The entire scope of the invention consists of a complete system for the organization of long jump competitions. It consists of a jump device that enables the jumper to jump from any point on a large jump plate without the risk of crossing. The measurement of the jump starts from the point that the jumper touched with the tip of his shoe when jumping. In addition to this, a device is arranged on the long side of the jump pit. Using an optical device, this detects the measuring point that was marked after the jumper was put on. The optical device ( 17 ) is moved manually on a measuring rail. The measuring rail is arranged high enough to make it easier to see through the optics. The optical device is equipped with a hand switch and with contacts. The hand switch is operated when the marking in the jump pit is detected by the optics. The position of the device on the measuring rail is marked via a contactor and entered into the computer. This covers the span of the jump distance that was reached from the front edge of the jump plate to the mark in the jump pit. The front edge of the jump device is the zero line, which serves as the starting point for the measurement both in the direction of the jump pit and for the measurement backwards in the direction of the jump plate. In the backward measurement, the distance from the zero line to the toe of the jumper is recorded exactly when jumping. Both measurements are electronically recorded and added. The actual total distance reached is displayed in a display device.
Preferably the unit of measurement should be centimeters, however also a narrower division, for example half a centimeter is technically possible.
The length of the measuring zone on the jump plate ( 5 ) can be of any size, it should be dimensioned so that the jumper is given the largest possible area. Even touching the measuring zone with the tip of the shoe would be sufficient to correctly measure the jump.
According to the invention, the jump device preferably consists of a wooden plate ( 2 ). It is mounted in a fixed frame ( 1 ), on which instruments of a measuring system ( 3 and 4 ) are firmly anchored on both sides, next to the plate. This measuring system consists of a number of small barriers of a known type, such as micro light barriers ( 5, 6, 7 ) which are arranged in such a way that they are at short and equal intervals, in a row next to each other and at a short distance above the plate ( 2 ) cover a large part of the plate. The distances between the barriers ( 5 ) in the row are preferably 1 centimeter or optionally a 1/2 centimeter. The measuring zone ( 5 ) thus formed extends to the edge of the plate at ( 14 ).
The jump can be made from any point in the measuring zone. If the front edge is crossed, the zero line, a jump is not counted. A movable bar ( 13 ) is arranged behind this edge and switches off the entire measuring system when touched by the jumper.
The measuring system switches off after a successful measurement and an appropriate rest period, which is necessary for reading and recording the data. It only switches itself on again immediately before a jump. The reconnection is triggered by the jumper. The measuring system is reactivated by means of a separate light barrier ( 10, 11, 12 ) which the knight breaks through before jumping off.
The barriers of the measuring zone ( 5 ) on the jump device are preferably equipped with microelectronic components and switching elements. Light dispenser (6) send by optical lenses (7), tightly focused beams of light selectively in oppositely disposed tube (8) against photocells. The barrier which is broken by the jumper and is closest to the zero line is selected via amplifiers and relays and correspondingly adapted resistors. The pulse is entered into a computer as a measured value, added to the measured value from the distance measurement and this is visually displayed in a device ( 12 ).
