Abstract

Combined filter element for a water treatment plant for binding CO2, raising the pH, inhibiting the growth of germs and reducing the germ content by mechanical filtration, comprising (successively in the direction of flow of the water) (a) a filter bed consisting of a granular material, pref. based on CaCO3, with the addn. of an Ag- contg. material, and (b) a filter element consisting of a fired ceramic filter candle made e.g. of kieselguhr, the filter bed and the filter candle being mounted in a single housing. The granular material in the filter bed may also contain 0.01 - 0.1 % of a Cl-releasing prod. USE/ADVANTAGE - The combined filter elements are compact, space-saving and relatively cheap to make and provide the required degree of hardening and disinfection of the water for use e.g. in individual drinking water preparation units.

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein kombiniertes Filterelement gemäß Oberbegriff des Patentanspruches 1.The invention relates to a combined filter element according to Preamble of claim 1.

This filter element is part of a system for processing Drinking water, especially in the individual water supply at in addition to the combined filter element, another Filter element, for example a reverse osmosis, upstream is. The latter is used to extract the raw water supplied dissolved water ingredients, e.g. B. nitrates to filter out. These are reverse osmosis films for individual water supply ter can be used today, as it is also used for pressure differences can be operated from approx. 4 bar and thereby by the solved filter out more than 90% of the water constituents in the Location. This means that the maxi paint nitrate values of 50 mg per liter with certainty clearly be undercut.

The further treatment of the water takes place at previously known plants then one after the other in several sections and also in several downstream filter elements.

The object of the invention is now for a water treatment System for individual water supply as compact as possible, space to find a solution that is economical and also reasonably priced and to still achieve the desired water quality.

According to the invention, the solution according to the characterizing part of claim 1 is proposed. You can get by with a single downstream combined filter element. The granular material, preferably based on calcium carbonate, achieves the CO 2 binding and thus the hardening of the water and the increase in pH, so that a lime-carbonic acid equilibrium is established in the water. The silver-containing material, applied to a known inner carrier, e.g. B. pumice, coal or gravel, is used to inhibit the growth of germs in the water and the downstream Fil terelement, consisting of a ceramic-fired candle, is then used for disinfection, ie for extensive Ent germination of the water.

Continuing the idea of the invention, it is proposed further a small amount of chlorine in the granular material releasing product, preferably 0.01-0.1% the total amount, which when the combined Filter element ensures additional disinfection.

With reference to the attached sketch, the invention is illustrated in FIG. The outer housing 1 of the combined Fil terelementes is provided with an entry nozzle (2) and a discharge nozzle (3).

The entry port ( 2 ), the liquid is supplied, for example, from a reverse osmosis and flows in the lower part of the filter element, the room ( 4 ), which is filled with granular mate rial, preferably calcium carbonate and filter wadding, in which space the silver-containing material in addition contained within the description mentioned inner carriers. The mentioned small amount of a chlorine-releasing product is also stored in this room. After flowing through the room ( 4 ), in which the CO 2 binding, pH value increase and inhibition of germ growth takes place, the water to be treated flows through the rooms 5 through the fired ceramic filter candle ( 6 ) into the interior of the filter candle ( 7 ) and arrives from here into the discharge nozzle ( 3 ). In the filter candle ( 6 ) there is extensive disinfection of the water, so that in the interior ( 7 ) of the filter candle only a largely germ-free water is present and flows out through the discharge nozzle ( 3 ).
