Abstract
Description
Squalane and squalene to eliminate pollutants the organism of humans and animals.
The present invention relates to the use of Squalane and squalene in the elimination of pollutants from the human and animal body.
Umweltbundesamt.)The increasing pollution of our entire environment substances leads to the end link of the food chain in humans inevitably leads to an accumulation of harmful substances, their impact on human health in their entire extent cannot yet be foreseen. So be stands with both the population and the medical community scientific uncertainty the risk to infants from breastfeeding since the mother milk partly contaminated with significant concentrations of pollutants is. (Effects of air pollution on human Health. Report of the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Protection and Nuclear Safety 1987, Environmental Data 1988/89. Federal Environment Agency.)
Diseases that have occurred due to the ingestion of pollutants are, for example, yusho caused by polychlorinated dibenzofuran in southwest Japan. (Chemosphere 7,771-777 (1978), Chemicals 8 259-266 (1979)) or the epidemically occurring Porphyria cutanea tarda in Turkey, caused by seed wheat treated with hexachlorobenzene. (Fed. Proc. 35, 2400 (1976)). The best known is the explosion known as Seveso accident in a production plant for the production of the herbicide 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid. An area of 2.8 km 2 was contaminated by the ejected TCDD. A year later, more than 500 children had chlorine acne.
(Mit wachsendem Halogengehalt steigt die chemische Stabilität und wächst das lipophile Verhalten).Due to the high fat solubility of chlorinated coal Hydrogen, these pollutants are high in fat tissue deposited. Is due to their chemical structure the half-life in the organism is very high. (With growing Halogen content increases chemical stability and grows that lipophilic behavior).
So far, there is no method for eliminating fat dissolving soluble pollutants applied. A related Ver should drive, possibly over a long period of time, without significant secondary effects can be carried out.
Untersuchungen von Richter et al., (Xenobiotica 13, No 6 337- 343 (1983), J. Environ. Sci. Investigations by Richter et al., (Xenobiotica 13, No 6 337- 343 (1983), J. Environ. Sci. Health 17/3, 195-203 (1982), Chem-Bio logical Interactions 40, 335-344 (1982); Yoshimura (Fukuoka Acta Medica 76, 184-189 (1985) demonstrate the effectiveness of oral ver the squalane used to eliminate dibenzofurans, hexa chlorobiphenyl, pentachlorobiphenyl and hexachlorobenzene Rats. The mechanism of action described by Richter is based on a transport function of the squalane for the investigation pollutants in the gut. The removal is between Blood and aqueous phase of the intestine have a concentration ent maintained and thereby a constant diffusion of the substances to be eliminated in the intestine. (Chem. Biological Interactions 40, 335-343 (1982)). Because of the same This mechanism of action affects toxicokinetic behavior for all chlorinated hydrocarbons, including for Dioxins, DDT, lindane, etc. Is the concentration gradient through constant removal of the fat-soluble pollutants by Maintaining Squalane, all these xeno can be maintained biotica in this way also in the human organism eli mine.
Matthews et al. (Xenobiotica 6 No. 7, 425-429 (1976)) have the Ex cretion of chlorinated hydrocarbons (DDT, Dieldrin, En inside, 4-chlorobipheny 1,4,4-dichlorobiphenyl, hexachlorobiphen yl) described by the skin and its appendages. This is based on the lipophilicity of chlorinated hydrocarbons, which diffuse into the skin sebum. This path poses according to Matthews, obviously a significant excretion mechanism. In my opinion, this process still ver strengthened and accelerated that Squalane or Squalen ge according to claim 1 is applied to the skin. The high lipo Philicity of the two substances increases the diffusion of the be harmful substances through the skin and their appendages educate. It can therefore be an additional and also raise reduction of the pollutants contained in the organism and if available, their xenometabolites. Squalene or squa has a positive effect lane on the skin bypassing the excretion of the harmful substances from the liver. This creates a possible risk ko through metabolism of pollutants in the liver the.
The use of squalane and squalene to eliminate Pollutants are of interest in the following health risks sant:
- 1. Bei erhöhten Schadstoffkonzentrationen in der Muttermilch.1. With increased pollutant concentrations in breast milk.
For workers in industry and for farmers who ho hen are exposed to pollution. Here can Squalane or squalene both preventively to avoid a high concentration of pollutants in the organism as well therapeutically e.g. after accidents involving a high Pollutant concentration can be used. The elimination of dioxins from the organism wins with great truth Probably of importance because the load on parts of the Population with the highly toxic TCDD according to Aquarius (Toxicological Institute of the University of Kiel, personal Communication) has taken on considerable proportions.
Finally, the prophylactic use of squalene or squalane among the population to minimize part as yet unknown, due to chlorinated hydrocarbons resulting damage conceivable.
By adding squalane to the feed of slaughter animals and from the dairy cattle the concentration of pollutants, if he required, who is reduced in drinking milk and meat the. Due to contamination of imported feed with Hexachlorocyclohexane isomers have been in recent years Milk exceeded the maximum amount. (Environmental data 1988/89)
(Biochem. biophys. Acta 219, 437 (1970), J. of the American College of Toxicology 1/2 37-56 (1982).)According to available studies, both squalane and Squalene without side effects. The external application of Squala ne as a basis in creams, lotions, lipsticks and other Cosmetics have been in use for over 25 years without verifiable risks. (Biochem. Biophys. Acta 219, 437 (1970), J. of the American College of Toxicology 1/2 37-56 (1982).)
