Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a ski tread covering, initially in a form by sintering a plastic block with differently colored areas is produced, from which subsequently the tread covering is peeled off by means of a peeling knife.
In the manufacture of treads for alpine and cross-country skis Two manufacturing processes are currently in use. In which first method is an extrusion process, at which the starting material is usually polyethylene with relatively never third molecular weight. This is presented as granules and plasticized in an extruder and pressed through a die. The barrel is then turned using a suitable rolling mill rolled to the desired thickness. The second principle The process used is a sintering process according to the generic term listed above. Here is usually flat if polyethylene is the starting material, which in this case in Powder form is presented. In an appropriate form it will powdered polyethylene under high pressure and at high temperature pressed into a cylindrical block. From this block the polyethylene tread is then peeled off peeled off.
The last-mentioned sintering process is also known to be carried out in such a way that the disc-shaped form differed Colored polyethylene powder types match in layers put on, then sintered and finally in layers be peeled off. This will make one across the width of the barrel surface covering varying color composition achieved. In modes This method is also known in Schich colored polyethylene powder poured on top of each other defined to miss each other beyond their phase boundaries so that after the sintering the polyethylene strips a closure have ren pattern. In the process described here So get color compositions of the tread that Do not change over the entire longitudinal direction. It is about this manufacturing process by a batch process ren, namely in the way described above only design designs can be achieved across the tread. The decisive disadvantage of this method is that that a variation of the colored zones in the longitudinal direction of the ski is not specifically possible. This is due to the procedural the designers Limi design options for ski area documents animals.
It is therefore the task of the generic method continue to produce a ski tread surface form any designer color scheme of the ski tread covering and in particular the production of samples, which alternate in the longitudinal direction of the ski is made possible.
The solution according to the invention results from the characterizing Part of claim 1. Accordingly, the method trained that different colored, sinterable plastic material with the formation of different colored areas in filled and then a substantially cuboid shape ßend in a substantially cuboid plastic block ge is sintered. Due to the fact that according to the invention of the previously known rondinterintering to block sintering is sintered, it is possible to suitably colored arrange plastic material defined in the block or a recurring along the length of the ski, already generated by sintering to get the best design. Because of this procedure, it is by defined mixing in the phase boundaries of the different colored plastic material powder areas possible, color over generate gears. Is suitable for the aforementioned method especially colored high-pressure polyethylene to be used of the plastic material. Depending on the design to be achieved The tread covers can be opaque or translucent be colored.

FIG. 1 shows a block 10 made of polyethylene by sintering. From this, a ski tread surface 14 of the desired thickness is peeled off by means of a schematically illustrated peeling knife 12 . During the peeling, the peeling knife 12 is held stationary, while the rondenför shaped block 10 performs a rotary movement in the direction of arrow A. The peeled tread surface 14 has differently colored areas B. The color limits of these areas B are indicated by corresponding longitudinal lines in FIG. 1. The length of the circular block 10 corresponds to the width of the ski tread surface 14 , so that it is clear from the arrangement of the colored areas B that although these vary over the width of the ski tread surface 14 , they remain essentially constant over its length.
The FIGS. 2 to 5 relate to the inventive method. The high-pressure polyethylene powder 20 presented in powder form is introduced into an essentially cuboid shape 22 with a lid 24 , as shown in FIG. 2. Referring to Figs. 3 and 4 it is clear that a 26 aligned color pattern can be produced by various lamination of the colored layers of polyethylene powder in any direction of the skiing surface covering. In Fig. 3 different colored polyethylene powder layers D are shown, which have an aligned in the longitudinal direction stripe pattern. In FIG. 4, however, an array of different colored inked areas C is shown, which are oriented transversely to the ski longitudinal direction, the respective line and dot symbols to represent different colors. The patterns shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 are of course only examples. Due to the geometric cuboid shape of the shape 22 , 24 specified here, any arrangement of the differently colored areas of the polyethylene powder to be provided can be selected. For example, alternating diagonally extending stripe patterns, wavy stripe patterns, etc. can also be easily achieved.
Fig. 5 shows the top view of a peeled ski tread surface 26 with the color areas oriented transversely to the longitudinal direction of the ski according to this example.
