Verfahren zur Herstellung von Oxalsäure. Die Patente 370972, 373129 und 37313o betreffen ein Verfahren, das darin besteht, daß man cellulosehaltige Stoffe, wie Holz, mit Salpetersäure oder mit nitrosen Gasen in Gegenwart von Eisenverbindungen oder Magnesiumverbindungen oder Verbindungen der seltenen Erden behandelt.Process for the production of oxalic acid. Man hat zwar schon vorgeschlagen, Sulfitcelluloseablauge oder die daraus gewonnene Ligninsulfosäure in An- oder Abwesenheit von Kontaktstoffen mittels Salpetersäure zu oxydieren. Nach vorliegendem Verfahren kommen dagegen als Oxydationsmittel nitrose Gase zur Anwendung und, soweit Salpetersäure mitverwendet wird, geschieht dies nur zu dem Zweck, die Abfallprodukte und die als Katalysator dienenden Eisen- bzw. Magnesiumverbindungen zu lösen.
