Verfahren zur Herstellung von Metallüberzügen auf Aluminium. Bei den bekannten Verfahren zur Herstellung von Metallüberzügen auf Aluminiumgegenständen durch Eintauchen derselben in ein Bad, dessen wesentliche Bestandteile Kohlensäure oder Ätzalkalien, Zyankalium und ein Salz des Schutzmetalls sind, bedarf es einer voraufgehenden Behandlung der Gegenstände, die im Reinigen und Entfetten derselben besteht. Diese Vorbehandlung ist ein erheblicher Nachteil, da sie nicht nur umständlich und zeitraubend ist, sondern auch, wegen des überaus schnellen Oxydierens des Aluminiums, nur unvollkommen durchgeführt werden kann, wodurch naturgemäß die Haltbarkeit des zu schaffenden Überzuges leiden muß. Das zu dem Verfahren gemäß der Erfindung zu benutzende Bad schließt sich den bisher vorgeschlagenen insofern an, als auch bei ihm die Bestandteile Kohlensäure oder Ätzalkalien, Zyankalium und ein Salz des Schutzmetalls vorgeschrieben. werden, hat jedoch eine andere quantitative und auch qualitative Zusammensetzung als die bisher vorgeschlagenen Bäder und zeigt sich dadurch diesen in verschiedener Hinsicht überlegen.
