Man hat daher den beim Warmverformen von Stahlprodukten, insbeson­ dere beim Warmwalzen von Brammen und Profilen in den Stahlwerken, anfallenden Zunder einfach im Freien, in so­ genannten Deponien gelagert. Wie die Praxis gezeigt hat, entsteht durch Zumischen von Branntkalk zum Zunder ein trockenes, rieselfähiges Produkt aus Eisenoxid und Kalkhydrat, das ohne jegliche Nachbehandlung unmittelbar einem Roheisen- oder Stahlkon­ verter aufgegeben und darin dem Schmelzprozeß zugeführt werden kann. Auf diese Weise wird mit geringem Kostenauf­ wand eine leicht handzuhabende und besonders wirtschaftli­ che Verarbeitung des in Walzwerken anfallenden Zunders, insbesondere des ölhaltigen Zunders, erreicht, und der im Zunder vorhandene Eisengehalt wiederum einer wirtschaft­ lichen Verwertung zugeführt.This problem is solved by burning the tinder lime is added, and that the mixed product then fed to an iron and steel extraction process becomes. Hierdurch wird sehr vorteilhaft ein besonders trockenes, rieselfähiges Mischprodukt aus Eisenoxid und Kalkhydrat hergestellt, welches das Öl in besonders gleichmäßig fein verteilter Form enthält. Dieses Mischprodukt kann dann sehr leicht in einem mit Roheisen beschickten Stahlkonverter problemlos weiterverarbeitet und der darin enthaltene Eisengehalt zu­ rückgewonnen werden, während der darin enthaltene Kalk als Schlackenbildner dient.In an advantageous development of the invention, the amount of quicklime mixed with the scale is stoichiometric with respect to the moisture content of the mill scale.
