Process for the recovery of large crystals from contaminated with floating bodies
Saline solutions.
When leaching muddy or dusty residues, such as
Ore powder and the like, also when processing metals or alloys on metal salts
The situation often occurs in a very disturbing way that the salt solutions obtained
are so laden with insoluble impurities that even by repeating them often
careful draining or by filtering the alkalis not in the for the
Generation of crystals required purity can be obtained. E.g. kick
when leaching sulfur-containing copper ores using mineral acids, but also
also when processing tin- and lead-containing alloys or tinned alloys
and leaded copper waste floats to a very disruptive extent
consist of extremely finely divided sulfur or stannic acid or lead sulfate.
The filtration of such alkalis on a technical scale is difficult to carry out,
because with the extraordinary fineness of the solid matter a very tight filter
must be chosen, which the filtration of technically relevant amounts
excludes. Diluting the lye with water makes it easier to a certain extent
Especially the decanting, but without bringing about a satisfactory clarification of the lye,
and also has the great disadvantage that you can subsequently use the added water
must evaporate again in order to achieve crystallization at all. The filtering
is also deslialb very difficult because the hot-saturated solutions knock out immediately,
if they suffer a corresponding loss of temperature, with consideration for
the long duration of filtering cannot be avoided.
Wollte man
The inventor has now found that such alkalis can be used without diluting
and filtering to easily process the desired end product if one
Pour off the liquor from the solid residue and then the disturbed crystallization

by allowing them to sit briefly, they can be easily and completely separated from the liquid.
while the float remains suspended in the mother liquor. of course is
In the spaces between the individual crystals there was still a certain amount of cloudy mother liquor
contained, but by displacement with clear lye, i.e. by washing out
etc., can be easily removed from the crystal powder. Then you submit that
Crystal flour from a recrystallization using pure mother liquor, the saturation of which
it is measured in such a way that the commercially available large crystals arise. You wanted to
try to produce large crystals directly from the unexplained mother's eye,
in this way one achieved not only the comparatively poorly trained, but also through
Inclusions of snake bodies heavily contaminated crystals,
the
even in the case of recrystallization, no commercially pure product is obtained if
the mother liquor is not frequently renewed during recrystallization.
The disturbed crystallization can be carried out in any way
will. In any case, it only requires very small facilities in relation to
the otherwise necessary decanting or filtering devices, which are still as described above
explained, do not lead completely to the goal. Disturbed crystallization is particularly effective
by blowing in cold air, because this not only allows for rapid cooling
the lye, but also a considerable narrowing of the hot lye is effected,
since the cooling effect is largely based on the evaporation of the water, which
arises from the saturation of air with water vapor. Cold blowing is useful
the liquor made in a countercurrent apparatus.
When separating the crystal flour from the sludge-containing water
Of course, it should be noted that the lye caused by the crystallization that has occurred
specifically has become lighter, so that the heavier parts of the float
have an opportunity to settle down rather than before blowing in the air. But are
the differences in the settling times of crystal powder and impurities in all
Cases have been found to be so large that a safe separation of the crystals
is within easy reach of the impurities. The cloudy mother liquor can now
can be further treated, depending on their intended use, either by evaporating them
and re-submitting them to the procedure described, or by putting them in the cold
Conditions poured off or filtered, which is now much easier to do because
the lye on the one hand has a much lower specific weight, on the other hand
the filter can no longer clog through crystallization. The cleaned
Cold Alutter liquor can then be leached with the addition of new amounts of acid or water
can be reused.
