Abstract

The drive element uses a piezoelectric transducer (10), attached to the wall (15) of the ink chamber (14) via a number of interlocking elements along their surface of contact. Pref. the wall (15) of the ink chamber (14) is made of a material which can flow into conical bores (17) in the transducer formed by laser or ultrasonic machining to provide a permanent bond between the ink chamber and the transducer. An inner electrode in the form of a metal spiral (16) can be soldered to the piezoelectric transducer and acts as a fastener for ensuring interlocking between the ink chamber wall and the transducer.
