Abstract

The heater includes a cylindrical hot water tank enclosed in a spaced insulating outer shell (10). The outer shell (10) has a cylindrical front side and at least one flat rear side the latter to be adjusted in parallel to the adjacent wall or walls (3, 4) so that extra spaces are left between the inner tank and the outer shell. At least one of the extra spaces contains a vertical air passage or channel contacting the hot water tank inside the outer shell (10). The air passage has a cold air inlet at the bottom and a hot air outlet at the top of the outer shell. Each of the air passages has at least one adjustable cover particularly adjacent the hot air outlet and/or adjacent the cold air inlet. The cover prevetns or allows an air flow, if it is closed or opened, respectively, and the cover being controllable by a thermostat.
