Description
Process for the rejuvenation of sulfur-containing absorption coal. the Rejuvenation of active coal, e.g. B. active charcoal, which is used for desulfurization sulfur-containing gases have been used, attempts have been made in various ways to without a technically completely satisfactory solution being known so far is. It has now been found that the sulphurous coal by simply roasting, whereby the sulfur is obtained as sulphurous acid, so far freed from the sulfur can be that it can be used again directly for cleaning the gases. One can easily avoid that significant amounts of coal are burned at the same time, by carefully regulating the temperature and air supply to create a glow the coal prevents. It is advisable to work through it in a rotating drum which a slow stream of air is sucked or blown. If you are at one point If heated to the point where the sulfur burns, the resulting heat is sufficient first to continue the combustion, and it can be the greatest Roast part of the sulfur without significant external heat input; the last remains usually require a small amount of reheating. With careful execution it succeeds to bring the coal down to its original weight again and again and a To obtain product which, even after repeated repetition, has good absorption capacity the original coal for hydrogen sulfide possesses.
It has already been proposed to use charcoal, infusor earth and other filter material can be reused by heating in an air stream do. This involves the removal of small amounts of organic substances Substances, and one could not infer from it that it would be possible with To free sulfur-saturated absorption charcoal from this by roasting and at the same time to reproduce the absorption capacity and catalytic power of the coal.
