Abstract

The grinding mill has a horizontal conical housing (42) of which receives the conical end of a shaft (27). The radial gap between the housing and the conical end of the shaft, which forms the grinding chamber, receives a ring of closely packed taper rollers (52) which form the grinding elements. The shaft can move axially w.r.t. the housing and is held in place by an axial force applied to the part of the shaft outside the housing.
