Description
Process for the production of colloidally soluble silica granules. It is known that by mixing alkali silicate with an excess of acid a sol can be made which either gradually or when blunted the acid suddenly turns into a gel due to alkaline. In the publication of L i s s i -gang and Abe 1 m a n n in the "Pharmaceutical Central Hall" in 1919 No. i i, and also in the later published German patent 329672 this Gel recommended for the production of ointments, pastes, jellies, creams, those for preservation Fatty substances or glycerine are added to the silica of the jelly.
Beispiel C.It has now been found that the common, fat-free silica gelatin is also particularly suitable for the production of colloidally soluble granules, and the transition from this state to the powdery, insoluble silica form is avoided if you use the mostly dehydrated and pre-dried fat-free Mixing silica granules with glycerine or aqueous solutions of mucilage. Example A. Silica jelly is squeezed out under pressure to about 60 percent of the Remove water. The mass obtained in this way is at a temperature of about 35 ° dried on trays in the drying room and after about two hours through a sieve driven. The substance dehydrated in this way by a further 10 percent, the nature of which can be changed by longer or shorter drying times can, and which is no longer a jelly, is in a mortar or in a powder mill with about 5 percent glycerine, the alcoholic solution of a bacteria-killing substance, such as 0l. Thymi, menthol or the like, and for the medicinal effect, for example Desired additives, such as calcium glycerol phosphate, potassium sulfoguajakolicum or the like. Mixed, so that a very intimate connection occurs. The so combined Silica granulate can be forced through a sieve again for reasons of beautification and is then ready to be filled into the packaging bottles. These will expediently rinsed beforehand with a diluted alcoholic peppermint oil solution. Example B. The preparation was produced as described under A, only instead of 5 percent glycerine, 10 percent of a 37 ° warm 2 percent gelatin solution added. Example C.
Beispiel E.The production was carried out as described under A, only instead of 5 percent glycerine added to a 5 percent gum arabic solution. Example D. The production was carried out as described under A, only instead of 5 percent glycerine added to a 2 percent tragacanth solution. example E.
The production was carried out as described under A, only instead of 5 percent glycerine 10 percent of an approximately 50 ° warm ip percent agar solution added.
A decomposition of the granulate by bacteria is caused by that the substances added to prevent the granulate from drying out (gelatine, Gum arabic, tragacanth, agar-agar) cannot be kept indefinitely in aqueous solution are. In addition, the silicic acid jelly itself is also subject to decomposition subject, especially if organic acids were used for their production. as germicides are therefore menthol, thyme oil or the like.
The granular character of the product remains despite the addition of a Solution of 0l. Thymi, menthol, etc. are preserved, as the preparation only has a low Amount of alcoholic solution of these antiseptic substances is mixed.
It has been shown that the preparation obtained becomes smaller when diluted dissolves with water in a short time similar to tabioka and not like ordinary silica powder falls insoluble to the ground.
Attempted experiments attest that one of the new colloidally soluble Silica granules can give large amounts to lung patients without that any harmful effect on the gastric and intestinal mucosa occurs, so that one has gone over to making the silica therapy with doses, which exceed those previously applied many times over.
